Blows the Globe Electric one out of the water
Love these night lights! I've had them for some time now and am pleased to report, this product is definitely solid modern tech.I will edit & elaborate later, but quick tip for Apple users: If you wish to change the icon but thought it was locked to the light bulb, good news: You can! From the Home app home screen, open the device page, scroll down and open 'Accessories', then open 'Light'. Now that you're on this 'sub page', the icon is now boarded. Tap on it and now this is where the a user can choose the icon for the device. Choices are limited to the 15 [currently] portraying typical lights, but at least it can be changed.Personally, I chose the outlined rectangle. In other cases I select that one to indicate items regarding a Tv, but in this case it's more accurate to the device's physical appearance IRL than the light bulb.More to come

It DOES work! Here’s how to solve the setup hassle!
As a HomeKit user since pretty much the very beginning, I saw this neat accessory and I had to pick it up; 2 sensors and an RGB night light all in one for the price is a great deal. I did have some setup hassle, but I knew how to handle it. Please read carefully and I will tell you exactly how I got mine working!1. When I opened the box, my home was still using the old HomeKit architecture, as I have an intel iMac that I didn’t want to update (for performance reasons). As it turns out, YOU NEED to be running the new home architecture. If you don’t, the device will successfully add to your home, but it will immediately become unresponsive. I decided to upgrade my home, I will use my other devices to control my home now…2. The device ships with factory firmware. There is much better updated firmware. To install it, you need the 3R-Installer app by the manufacturer. You first need to add the device to that app BEFORE adding it to your Apple home. When you add it, you should see the firmware update. Say “Yes” to update the device. Once the firmware is updated, you need to remove it from the app, then reset the device by using a paperclip and inserting it into the hole on the side of the device while it is plugged in. THEN you can add it to your Apple Home with the new home architecture and it will work very smoothly. Here is the App Atore link to the correct app:https://apps.apple.com/us/app/3r-installer/id6464381752NOTE: If the device is power cycled, it will take a few minutes to come back online to your Apple Home. I found that this device took a little longer than my other ones to come back online, but it does eventually come back online. No need to reset the device with a paper clip for this.Overall, this IS in fact a good product, it does work. But it is a bit of a hassle setting it up. I hope this is helpful!

Utter Rubbish
** UPDATE on 3/21 following installing the firmware update. **3 hours later and I've factory reset all 3 units and re-added them several times. I've deleted and re-installed the 3R-Installer app. Got further than previous few attempts. But at the end of the day, the device name, color choice, and brightness all reset at random as always. See review headline^^^^**************Bought 3 of these. As far as I can tell they are using consumers to do the beta testing. This product is not ready for the average person. I have 35 home automation sensors and gadgets connected to my network. This one setup pretty easily *once* I understood that it takes TWO apps to do so. There is one app just to connect it to your Matter network. Then another app to configure the features.I added it to Apple Home. It worked for a couple of days. Then I noticed that all of them had defaulted back to 100% brightness and plain white light. I have tried multiple times to set them back to 50% and different hues. After a span of several minutes to hours they default back. Going to return before I go nutso!

This night light works as expected
When I bought this, I thought it was defective. I WAS WRONG! The only problem was me. I was trying to integrate this into Home Assistant. I was logged into HA as a regular user, not as an Admin. After correcting for my dumb, I got this operational. I have been fine tuning it's operation under HA for a little while. Remember, this is NOT a plug and play device. If you plug it in, it will NOT automatically turn on the light at night, at least under HA. You must use it's Motion detection, and LUX level, if you want, to the tell the light when to turn on or off. After getting it to work the way I wanted, I have also used it to also turn on a secondary light in the area, a bedroom, for more complete lighting. If you use this in a small to medium room, i.e. a bathroom, this light is plenty bright enough.I have never been a fan of turning on bright lights at night just to walk around. I just want enough light to avoid objects and anything a pet might move/leave for me.If you are automating your house, this Night Light is great!
