Fixed Stars and Their Interpretation Paperback – Illustrated, December 15, 2009

This book has proven to offer everything it promised, and as I study astrology I find that I refer to it more every day. The way Ebertin-Hoffman presents the descriptions is easy to read and understand. I highly recommend it to anyone studying astrology in depth.

I feel that this book offers good information especially about the history ofthe fixed stars. I would have liked more information about how the fixed starseffect the natal chart's houses and astrological signs and the planets. This isa good book but, it didn't give me all the information that I was looking for.I wanted an in depth summary of how it works in a square, opposition,conjunction and a trine. For the price I think it is a good value. Also, I wish they had usedpeople that I am familiar with in their examples, they were mostly German from the WW2 era.

Probably Ebertin's conclusions and insights are valuable; but this is a reprint of a 1950 edition of an expanded 1928 work. It's full of errors, misprints, mistranslations, and the star charts are poorly reproduced with stars and constellations in German. Also, it's difficult to get past "updated" examples which seem to be admiring of "statesmen" such as Hitler and Goebbels.I look forward to a refurbished edition with star names that match contemporary astronomical charts.

An essential text for astrologers!

Good reference

Read it today. It is written by a German Astrology about German people of the 30's to 50's. Not familiar with these people very much. So it is more difficult for me to associate what she is trying to apparent. I'm not able to relate to them. It is interesting enough to keep as a reference.

Better more comprehensive books on the fixed stars and constellations are available in English. Brady's Book on Fixed Stars and Vivian Roberson's "The Fixed Stars and Constellations in Astrology are two that come to mind.
