To my recollection, the 10s have a wound G, but they've been a bit light for my Martins so now I use either the 11s (short scale guitars), 12s (regular scale guitars) and 13s (medium, for dreadnaughts) that all have wound Gs. I'm actually liking the Santa Cruz light tension for the short scale guitars, or the D'Addario Nickel Bronze (like the Martin Retro strings). The NB age "gracefully".

High E refers to pitch not pisition. it is the thinest and goes on the bottom. The thickest is just referred to as E typically and goes on top.

Yes, they ought to. They will give a darker, warmer tone (being bronze. These are a medium set. Do you know what gauge/set your guitar came with? Sometimes going to a heavier set produces fret buzz until the guitar is adjusted. My dreadnaughts are set up for medium strings. Most of my smaller guitars are set up for light strings.
