This is my second purchase of this item. The ice balls come out of the tray very easily. Good size for a standard bourbon glass. Well made and easy to fill. a must have.

These are the best ice ball makers !!!. They are easy to fill, and open up after freezing. Highly recommend. They are a must if you're having a Bourbon or a cocktail where you want ice, but not ice that will melt quickly. perfect size. I bought 3, 2 for myself and one for a friend. great item. everyone should have at least one. They look beautiful in a glass too.

Friend had a fridge that made round ice balls. I really liked that so I purchased the one here. To begin with I found a funnel is only in the way. I just sit the assembled tray under my sink faucet and let the water run gently into every component. Then make sure the top is secure all around and in the interior snaps. When I am removing the ice I find it easier to hold the bottom of the clear tray vertical and let warm water from your faucet run down only for a few seconds. This should separate the two trays. Do the same for the rubber top that's holding the ice. The balls should push right out. Works for me.

So, here's the deal: my man LOVES his giant ice ball in his bourbon. If I forget to make it, it’s like I’ve committed a grave injustice. He’s absolutely mortified—whining like a toddler until his 6 pm cocktail is properly "iced."These ice balls have been amazing. They’re huge, perfectly round, and make his drink feel like it’s been crafted by the finest mixologist in a fancy bar (in our living room). I’m just saying, if you want peace, tranquility, a happy man, and a very happy cocktail hour, this is your ticket.Plus, they’re easy to use, and let’s be honest, I’m saving my dignity (and my sanity) with these ice spheres.I've tried a lot of different types of bourbon ice ball molds. These are definitely the easiest to fill and remove from the tray. This is my second purchase.Highly recommend!

Hard to fill to make a perfect ice ball, I had to buy another brand

The headline says it all. You want to feel like a mixologist, or classy bartender at one of those high-end hotel bars, you'll get that with this product. I have tried other sphere ice cube molds but none were as flawless as this one. Many would leak, or be rough shaped after freezing, or crack. This ice mold is so easy to use. I've never had any of the balls get stuck when trying to remove them from the silicone (sometimes you have to pry off the silicone), but you can run the mold under some water for a couple seconds, and the balls should easily be able to be pushed out of the molds.Pro Tip: hold the tiny funnel up a little (so it is about halfway out of the sphere hole) while pouring in the water. If you just let the funnel sit all the way down in the hole, the water does not go in as quickly. Holding it up a little allows air to escape, so the water trickles down the funnel immediately when pouring.Pro Tip #2: Use filtered water, or bottled water. Helps to make the ice a little more clear. You can even run the ball under some cold water for a second to make it really smooth!Pro Tip #3: A few hours in the freezer, I pull the tray out and knock off those tiny top pieces of ice that leaked out from the top hole. This helps to make it a little more even at the top and less like a nipple. Sometimes I'll even top off the water on some of the balls, if I find that they aren't frozen all the way to the top halfway through.

Love these! I use 2 of the balls it makes for one drink in my holder. Slow to melt but keeps drink cold!

I just began my foray into the art of bourbon and mixed drinks, and wasn’t satisfied with the way ice cubes from my refrigerator’s ice maker quickly melted and watered down my drinks. I could go into the way it distributes and cools more area between the cubes, but who really cares? I needed a slower melting method that wouldn’t overwhelm my drink with water, forcing me to drink it faster to prevent it from tasting watered-down rather than enjoying my spirits.I know, there are non-ice cooling methods out there, but let’s face it, they’re not as efficient as ice.The silicone top is nice, and grips onto the hard plastic bottom solidly. The divots and edges grab snugly, and prevent leaks. Don’t know how long it will last, but I got this one pretty cheap, I’ll be happy if I can get a year out of it.Some tips I learned using it, and I’m sure others have many more. Make sure the silicone and plastic are room temperature and clean before filling, dry the parts that seal together well (prevents water from seeping in, affecting the seal). Press the silicone top on the divots with your fingers/thumbs, and run your hands around the outside to seal completely. Turn the water warm, then turn the pressure down to where the water is a thin stream, fill each section (the funnel is near useless), finish it by dripping into each one, turn upside down to get the excess water off (it won’t spill or leak if your seal is good), you should have small air bubbles in the bottom, if they’re bigger than a dime, just drop more water into the chambers. Finally, toss it in the freezer. They’re larger than regular ice cubes, so it will take quite a while longer than your standard ice tray.Easy way to get them out, hit the whole thing with warm-hot water all over. Separate the plastic and silicone, the ice balls should pop out with a bit of force. Try to push with your palm.If you want crystal clear ice balls, someone told me to use distilled water…I haven’t tried it yet, so, it could work, I guess.
