Great Songs
I've only learned a couple of these songs, but they are all enjoyable to play and listen to. I wish there was a CD included, but I've been able to find most of the songs on Youtube.

Highly rewarding pieces
This 96 page compilation of Calatuyud's short pieces for classical guitar contains music of real melodic and rhythmic interest, all within the range of the intermediate guitarist. Some music is in the Spanish style (e.g., Boceto Andaluz, with its flamenco touches--done simply), some with a Catalan touch (e.g., La Presó De Lleida) and even a couple of modest sonatinas. However, the majority of the pieces are dance related--gavottes, mazurkas, minuets, pagans and sarabands. The printing is clear and the included fingerings helpful but, of course, not absolutely the only possibilities. It would have been nice if the book were spiral bound; all sheet music books would benefit from this format, but the sewn binding stays mostly flat when opened.

Masterful compositions from a Master.
Sensitive and musical contemporary pieces from a Spanish Master. Goes from easy to hard.

These tunes maintain freshness. At once rousing and haunting --a great variety. Nothing dull.
From the beginning piece to the end a Galop, each piece here breathes a life of, sun, sea, dream. What ever you think of that island of Majorca to be, you might get a sense from these pieces. A wonderful way to spend the winters of the USA Midwest, NE; Canada, or wherever --you and your guitar and this book..... The easy ones can be embellished, the more difficult ones savoured slowly.A photo copy of that Valz on page 4 was the very first piece I was ever taught by a Classical Guitar teacher. Mr Hoffman gave me that one piece of paper so many years ago, Valz . Very enchanting to say the least for a new (yes, and naive) student. Memorized it in a day or so. Moved on to different books. However, for 25 or so years only having the photocopy of the piece, all this time I thought "Calatayud" was a Spanish term for the type of Valz it was.Turns out, thanks to Google, "Calatayud" is the composer's name. My purchase of this volume is long overdue. .This is one of my treasures. The music notation is spread out enough to pencil in your own notes. The string number is usually noted when shifting is necessary, and enough left-hand fingering to keep you on track.Happy practicing!

Great repertoire book
This is a great book to work with after you have learned scales and note reading. Each piece is successively more difficult and the pieces are fun to learn. I recommend it.

Great Music book
This book has some really great songs to learn. For experienced players, a lot are easy pieces but still enjoyable to play. For beginners, you will find lots of great songs to practice and help build up technique and confidence. You can find all of the songs in this book on youtube so if you are not sure if you will like the pieces you can go listen to them first. I already ordered the second and third volume from this series

Good for a beginner.
This book starts off with a grade 1 exam piece and slowly gets harder. Great if, like me, you're not playing that long. I'm slowly working my way through it. Each piece has something new to learn and each piece, so far, is decent enough to play. Well worth getting.
