Otterbox commuter- Before you purchase the case, check out a couple of YouTube videos that show you how the case actually fits, especially in comparison to the Defender and Symmetry. There is a Canadian, MobileReviewsEh, on YouTube hurling, drowning and flinging phones to show how the cases fare in case of drops/stress/water, etc. They also have a website with lots of reviews for phone and phone accessories. There are also other videos on YouTube to assist you make a (better/informed) decision.- I purchased an armband, GearBeast gear wallet so that I could avoid taking the phone out of the case each time I needed to work out. It looks tedious, especially when you are in a hurry, which is always. The armband is ideal for those who have phone cases that are difficult to remove and install/re-instal or for those who fear that the case's integrity is compromised by multiple opening and closing sessions, especially waterproof cases.- I have never owned an otterbox case before so I don't know if their standards have dropped or remain the same (or even improved)- it comes in 2 pieces. The rubber/silicone piece is where the phone is placed and thereafter fitted into the plastic piece. Be patient while placing the rubber/silicone into the plastic. It might take a while to get it even but it looks great/nice/presentable after the cover is in. The rubber/silicone is matte but the plastic is shiny-ish. I don't particularly like the 'shiny' plastic but it's not a big deal. Hopefully the fact that it has 2 pieces shall dissipate the energy when the phone drops and spare the phone.- the case feels light and covers the iPhone 6 plus adequately apart from the screen, which is why I recommend a glass screen protector.- the protruding volume buttons as well as the power/sleep buttons work well.- it is light and adds very little weight to the phone.- the camera is exposed but the protruding camera lens is easily protected by the case when the phone lies flat on its back. It is not completely protected, so one might opt for a case that is all-covering if that is a deal breaker.- the phone case's front is raised and this may provide protection in case the phone falls flat on its screen, hopefully...- the flaps that close (and open) the ports for the earphones and charger close (and open) well enough. They look sturdy enough to withstand numerous openings and closings of those ports, especially for someone like me who is always using earphones and charging the phone due to heavy use. I hope they don't break/cut off at their pivot point after repeated use.- the headphone/earphone/earbud port holes are wide enough to accommodate earphones with larger than usual jack 'holders' or the covers of jacks outside the 3.5 mm part. Some smaller cases cannot accommodate the larger jack 'covers' and some do it but snugly, almost deforming the case.- The charging port holes can accommodate the thin iPhone 8 pin charger or wider aftermarket chargers eg Merkury or Belkin.- the complimentary screen cover is subpar. It does not cover the lower half of the phone completely, beneath the home button. It is a very small area but it is annoying. Use it to cover the Apple logo at the back and get either a good set of screen covers (Tech Armor or others) or better still, a glass screen protector (Volt or Tech Armor or iloome screenmate curved screen protector or others) I got a Volt glass screen protector and I like it. Check YouTube videos for the best screen protectors.- I hope to never find out if it protects the phone adequately.- it's not the grippiest of cases as the plastic outer shell is a bit slippery. I hope I get used to that.- the all black case is perfect for me as it doesn't bring attention to the phone itself. This phone is huge and a black case 'blends' the phone in. There are other colors.- Overall, I like it and I chose it in part due to its popularity on Amazon and videos on YouTube. Once you use it for a couple of days, you will get used to it.- I'll hopefully provide an update later as to how it fares in relation to dust, sweat during workouts and normal wear.

I am extremely happy with this case. This is the third case I've had for my 6 plus and I'm glad I finally got an otter box because the others just weren't very protective. I was convinced to get an otter box when I dropped my phone on tile on easter and my glass screen cover cracked. Thank goodness I had that or maybe that would have been my phone's screen. 30 minutes later I was on Amazon and ordered this bad boy. I didn't want the defender because its pretty big and didn't want the symmetry because it's too small and doesn't offer as much dust protection. This one is perfect. I was extremely excited to put it on when I got it. It wasn't hard to put it on and once I had it on I felt so much better about the protection of my phone. It looks somewhat big but surprisingly I could not tell a difference with how it felt in my pocket. The plastic back lets it slide right in and out without catching. The only thing is that its a bear if you have to get your phone back out of it. I don't mind that though because I don't plan on doing that very often and it just means it hugs the phone quite nicely. The screen cover it came with is surprisingly good. It's really clear and I actually like it better than the glass one I had before. I did not see that coming, I thought it was going to be a downgrade. I haven't really had any experience with dropping it but I did once on hard carpet and it was fine but I don't really think that proves much haha. But I'm prepared for the day when it takes a dive for cement and I'm sure it will pass with flying colors. The one thing I wish it had was a clear cover on the back for the Apple logo. I'm worried my poor little pretty Apple logo is going to get all scratched up now. The ports on the bottom are nice and they should do well keeping lint out of the ports. The buttons on it are amazing. The last otter box I had on the iPhone 3Gs were very spongy. This one the buttons are firm and you can distinctively tell when you have pressed the button. I'm very satisfied with this case and will most likely keep this one as long as I have the phone. I highly recommend it.

Arrived quickly and fit my phone (6 Plus) like a glove. I have owned older generations of the Commuter series cases for older iPhone models and while they have been well built, this case seems to be designed even better. Very happy with my order and would recommend.
