Bitdefender Total Security – Complete Antivirus and Internet Security Suite – 5 Devices | 2 year Subscription | PC/Mac | Activation Code by Mail

I started out giving this product a bad review because I couldn't figure out how to cancel it but once I got someone on the phone--had to search for the number in Romania --it went smoothly. So no complaints there. I do think it worked as I didn't have any problems- although I had another security program on as well- a free one- that kept saying some app was infected but never saw a bad outcome. Anyways I did use it for two years. Quitting because I have a MAC and friends told me a MAC shouldn't need additional protection.And I can save money this way.

I have been using Bitdefender as my antivirus protection for probably over a decade and find it to be the best of all the products in it's class. I am tech-savvy so already adept at avoiding falling into phishing and other traps which can wreck havoc on a device but I I would never go without any kind of virus protection software. I uninstall the bloated ones that tend to come pre-installed on a computer and install this. I have it on 5 devices, including my Samsung Galaxy mobile, 1 desktop, and 3 laps running Windows 10 or 11. I find the pricing for this software from Amazon to be awesome as a 1 year subscription would have cost me $99 from Bitdefender and I get 2 years from Amazon. The mailed code arrived within one day and when I entered it in Bitdefender Central, I received a confirmation that it was valid and accepted. The confusing part (which is ALL Bitdefender's fault) is that the My Subscriptions tab doesn't make it clear that the subscription was renewed (see top portion of screenshot). I contacted Bitdefender by chat and they pointed me to the (smaller) portion in the lower screen where the expiration date was updated. Why wouldn't the new license replace the old one? They say that it will kick in once the old one renews (even though the beginning date overlaps). I'm still happy with the product but just thought I'd point this out so others aren't wasting time contacting customer support.

It’s an affordable solution compared to others

One presidential administration banned the use of Kaspersky on federal computers but allowed civilians to use it on their personal computers and devices. The last presidential administration banned it from being used by civilians. As a result, the Kaspersky Total Security suit that I purchased in March 2024 no longer can update itself. Kaspersky handed it's US business to another anti virus company and allowed that company to install it's software onto people's computers. Not cool. Thanks to the government, I lost money on my 2 year subscription.After being a Kaspersky user for over 13 years, I was forced to find something else. I previously had used Mcafee or Norton before they became intrusive, annoying, weak at scanning for viruses and malware, and resource hogs. Not to mention the customer service sucks for both products. Look them up on user review sites like Trustpilot, if you do not believe me.So I have settled on what some people online suggest to be the next best alternative to Kaspersky. Bitdefender is now installed on my PCs as well as my mom's PCs. I purchased the 5 device 2 year Total Security suit. Unlike Kaspersky, it does not come with a disk. It comes as an envelope with a credit card size paper card with product key. Once I setup up an account and entered product key, It downloaded the installation file and I had it installed on my computer within a few minutes. It asked if I wanted to protect other devices. Through my account, I was able email an invite with the download link to my mom. She clicked the link and downloaded the installation file and had Bitdefender installed on one of her business PCs within a few minutes. I did not have to share the product key or account password with her. That in its self is a nice feature.So far, it seems to be working with out excessive annoying pop ups like you would get with Mcafee and Norton. I liked how Kapersky would give you a real time on screen scan process indicator when inserting a flash drive. Bitdefender seems to do it in the background. Our computers have SSD storage and sufficient memory, so no slow down of computer resources has been noticed.

I have been using Bitdefender Total Security for over 4 years now and never had a virus or breach with this version. I never get false alerts like other Virus Software packages.

I chose Bitdefender because it was listed as one of the top three best software programs. A few days ago I tried to pay my utility company, Bitdefender would not allow me to access their website. Yesterday, I tried to access an email from Social Security, Bitdefender won't allow me to. Today I tried to pay a bill I owe, again, Bitdefender won't let me into the website; Yesterday 'Ella' was given the URL for the utility company that Bitdefender provided saying the 'connection isn't private' and 'this server couldn't prove that it's security certificate is from *.sendgrid.net Bitdefender has refused to refund my money, I'm out $80 and their software is acting like malware on the two desktop computers I loaded it on. None of the companies Bitdefender is locking me out of have compromised websites as I can access them from any of my other computers, phones, and tablets that DO NOT have Bitdefender installed; only the two desktops (one of which is brand new, while the other is almost one year old) are slowly being 'taken over' by Bitdefender software as I access different websites to pay my bills or conduct my business by refusing to allow me access. I am very disappointed and angry about my money!
