Parted Magic - Powerful Partition Editor and Cloning / Backup Tool

I wish I can give it a 10 starI messed up my Dell XPS laptop. I couldn't delete partition and install Window. I tried Window Vista came with the laptop, also Window 7 32 bit, 64 bit, even Window XP; none worked. I download Parted Magic first, but realized that I can't create the ISO CD ROM. Since it's so easy to use Cloud drive, I no longer keep the CD/DVD writing tool. Then I bought the CD ROM, it works like a charm! I booted from the CD, then I was able to delete old partition, create new partition, then use my own Window 7 CD to install Win7. After installed Win7, still no WIFI because driver not installed. Also, USB was not recognized. So it seems that I have to download all drivers, write them to a CD ROM and install them from there. But Parted Magic can recognize the network controller without using Dell driver and came with Fire Fox. Again, I booted from Parted Magic, go online, download Dell drivers. And then reboot back to Window and install Dell drivers. What a life saver!

DO NIT BUY THIS CD IT IS A COMPLET WASTE OF TIME AND THEY TEN BUCKS,COULD NOT GET IT TO RUNEMAILED FOR HELP FROK THE SELLER, THEY TELL ME i HAVE TO BE UP,,, ON DOS TO RUN THIS PROGRAM,SORRY BUT NO ONE USES DOS ANY MORE,NO ONE USES A TYPEWRITER ANY MORE...THERE IS NOTHINGIN THE AMAZON ADD THAT STATS DOS,NOTHING,, ITS NOT THE COST OF THE CD, TEN BUCKS IS WHAT?NOT EVEN TWO GALLONS OF GAS, ITS THE TIME WASTED ON THIS WHEN I COULD HAVE PAYED A LITTLEMORE AND GOTTEN A PROGRAM THAT WORKS.....THEY SELLER KNOWS NO ONE DOES DOS ANY MORE.

Has a cheap printed label on disk that was "blistered"/not completely attached, and "scrapes" the interior of the DVD reader/player when being run.

I wasn't expecting the interface to be so stark and with the lack of instructions, it was down to guessing how to use it. I wanted to simply wipe/delete the hard drives--just an old-fashioned delete, nothing fancy. I thought I completed the task. It seemed to say it was done. But, no joy. The data was still on the drives, the partitions intact, nothing changed. I'm sure it would likely work if you were geek and experienced with using linux. I'm no noob, but I didn't figure out how to use this tool. I'm not experienced with linux, and as I said, there are no instructions.

If your not able to create a mirror image of this disc or any other ISO disc I'd say you best leave it alone or be prepared to dish out lots more $ on other things that you may damaged with this disc.

Well, it comes with no instructions. I assumed it was Linux based so I tried to run it as a boot disk and it did work. It does the job but would be better with instructions.

I'm sure that LinuxFreak has no trouble making this software work but I cannot.It will show the drives and accept the command but will not make a clone that works. Wasted money for me.
