DK Eyewitness Books: Mummy: Discover the Secrets of Mummies―from the Early Embalming, to Bodies Preserved in

As soon as my child mentioned an interest in mummies, I scrambled to Amazon to buy this! I remember reading it as a child and loving it, and it holds up. That being said, I'll admit that I had a face-palm moment when it arrived and I started reading it to my 7-year-old, because it IS a book filled with pictures of dead bodies. Well, duh! I had a moment where I felt bad about it, but honestly, my 7-year-old has loved reading it with me and it's sparked so many awesome questions and conversations.

A terrific book and series. Great photographs, and well presented information. I bought it for my sixth grader to use for a history paper, and my second grader is just as interested in looking at it! Only disappointment is the CD Rom that comes with it.. it is just a series of photos, that are in the book. Would be better if it was an educational video with narration. Great overview poster with bite-size information included. We used the book and the poster continuously, and each was very helpful.

This book is a very informative guide to mummies of all kinds, most of which are historical! I really loved being able to read this book again (After having borrowed it from the local library). And this time, it came with a little extra bonus! Very nice. The only thing it did not mention was the Tocharian Mummies. And to me, they are some of the most fascinating mummies I ever learned about.

My 6 year old grandson is fascinated with mummies and loves this book.

A great book for the middle schoolers! DK Eyewitness Books are both informative and fun. My son couldn't put it down! The seller sent the book fast.

Nice book, the kiddo finds lots to read about in here, we take it to our local museum when we look at mummies.
