T-REX Waterproof Butyl Tape for Leak Repair 48mm x 1.52cm

Bought this to repair a garden furniture cover that got ripped, and it has worked a trea. Even in heavy rain it has stayed glued to the fabric. Plenty on the roll in case it eventually needs replacing. Should imagine would work very well to temperaily fix pipe leaks etc.

This did fix my pond liner but needed tape on both sides of the liner, which was awkward. However, my wellies were cracked and leaking. It some of this to fit, cleaned the service, stuck the tap on and went over them with a hot hairdryer- it did a fantastic job of that.

I have a very large football sized hole in my pond liner right at the water line., caused by rats when the pond was surrounded with decking that they loved under. I attempted to fix it in early Summer with a piece of liner and the waterproof pond liner repair silicon (can’t remember the name but it’s the one in the yellow cartridge). Well it didn’t work and within a couple of weeks the pond was leaking until I was topping it up ever couple of days. So decided to try this. I did not apply it under water. Instead let the pond down so that the full hole and an inch or so below it were fully exposed and could dry out. I applied the tape on the underside and top of the liner, so that it overlapped the liner by 2+ inches all the way around and then stuck to itself over the hole itself. I didn’t add any patching liner. That was on August 31st and I’m writing this on Sep 24th. So far I have been able to have my pond filed half way over that taped hole and haven’t had to top the pond up once since (other than when I backwash clean the filter, of course). The liner I have is a Swell plastic liner, which I heard apparently requires a swell patch kit to fix any problems. This tape is proving that wrong so far. Will update this review if/when the tape starts to peel away.

I have a small leak on a water butt, (just a constant small drip about halfway down. The illustrations show the tape being used to stop a large leak with a considerable amount of flowing water so I thought it should do the job easily. I followed the instructions and put small patch over the leak,but it did not stop the dripping water. I stuck a larger patch over the top of the original patch to no avail. A third larger patch also did not fix the leak, allthough the patches appeared to stick well to the water butt. As I have used all of the tape I cannot return the product for a refund. Also the backing tape does not peal off very well, and leaves bits of it left behind which are difficult to remove. I ended up trimming both edges to prevent this happenning.

The white backing you peel breaks easily and leaves remains on the tape you have cut. Also used under water on bestway pool and came away after 15 minutes.

An excellent product. Easy to apply and instantly stopped a leak in my rain water gutter.

Good sponge and waterproof. Dose what it says on the box.

Trou dans le sol de ma piscine, j'ai mis un bout de T-rex sur le trou directement dans l'eau, plus de fuite, adhérence immédiate, à voir dans le temp. J'ai quand même passé un coup de tissus sur le trou avant au cas où il y aurait du gras dans le fond
