First batch I made was far from ideal. the ice cream did not solidify. I nearly sent it back and left a one-star review, but then I had to be honest with myself: It was the first ice cream I'd ever made and I was going for a non-dairy, sugar free recipe, so chance was that it was my fault and not the machine.I persevered and I'm beginning to get better and better results. You do have to accept that you need to put the ice cream in the freezer for at least 2 hours before serving, and if you leave it overnight, it will be hard and you'll need to leave it out for at least 20 minutes to be able to scoop it. But that's not the machine's fault. I've read that glycerine might help stop it from going hard, so looking forward to trying that.Overall this machine is great. it's small, but if it's only one or two of you, it's plenty. And if you live in a small place or have a small freezer, the machine doesn't take up too much space. Also, I have been able to make two lots in a row without the need to freeze the base again. I also like to have two or three flavours to choose from, so it's still fine by me.Finally... I love the design more than anything else!! It has that retro 50s American Diner feel. Really cool and cute.

Rubbish don't waste your money. I tried making a sorbet. After freezing the base for 24+ I added a small amount of mixture. 3 hours later the one I had put in the freezer was done. The mixture in the machine hadn't even change constancy.

Brought as a gift and they loved it! Easy to use and clean. Great price.

This is one of those products where it's so cheap compared to the competition that it would get a pass for poor quality, but this absolutely knocks it out of the park for what it is.The mixer is small and definitely cheaply made - the paddle is plastic but feels sturdy enough, and the motor gets quite hot when churning, but it's more than large enough to make reasonably sized servings for a family of 4.You're not going to get the same results you would with a £200 machine, but for single batches without ridiculous amounts of mixins it does the job very well.

This is more suited to children! Much too small for a. family of four. Also, no recipe for even simple ice cream, had to go online and guess potions to fit. A shame because I have quite a few items from American Originals.Not worth the money, I’m afraid. Will be passing on to nephews and nieces. Don’t recommend.

I was so disappointed when I was forced to return this machine because at first sight it seemed ideal for my modest needs not to mention that it looks very cute too!Unfortunately the base of the unit is distorted, this only became apparent when I tried to fit the lid it would not fit snugly and rocked from side to side the cause being theobvious gap which can be seen in the accompanying photograph.

Neat little machine , makes enough for desert for two and no more
