Text-Dependent Questions, Grades K-5: Pathways to Close and Critical Reading (Corwin Literacy)

I like the way the approach is explained. It is easy to understand and exhaustive. I am wondering whether the ‘Science of Reading’ advocates have read this book. I am sure they will see how the language component is included in this approach. Teachers and school administrators will benefit in reading this book.

This is a book necessary for teachers to read if they are implementing Close Reading or work in the common core.

Worth the time to read. Fisher and Frey are the ones to go to on Close Reading. Love the suggested books/stories and questions at back of book. Buy this!

To me this seemed so over thought that it was extremely dry and uninteresting. I didn’t find it to be very helpful. As a teacher I knew most of what was in the book already from classroom experience.

Best thing I have ever read about close reading. Breaks the process down into four parts that I found really useful in my teaching. Very glad I read it.

This book was easy to read and full of great information that I can easily use in my classroom.
