Cracker Barrel Sharp Cheddar Macaroni & Cheese Dinner (3 ct Pack, 14 oz Boxes)

I'm a Vine reviewer but this is not a Vine review, it's a purchase. I've read somewhere many reasons why stuff tastes so bland that used to be good. Pasta marinara sauces, (bland tomatoes because of genetic culturing), cheese blends like Chee W...., that removed all the cheese years ago and original inventor couldn't believe how bad it has become. There are many things that seem to change over time, and Mac and Cheese is one. I used to love the packages with the cheese powder you mixed with butter to make the sauce. Later they came out with an instant that was awful, so bad I wrote big K about it, and they sent me coupons for more. I wrote other food companies with good suggestions, but most were ignored. I once wrote to change that instant stuffing mix back to two packets and separate the breadcrumbs. Some of us want to lower our salt, and sometimes use the spices for other reasons, but sadly ignored.Thats why it was so surprising to find Cracker Barrel Mac and cheese such a good product. Tasty, brings back what big K had years ago, but today is bland city. They make various cheese types, all are pretty good. They even made one with real crumble bacon, I can't seem to find anymore. I originally got the stuff at one of those surplus freight stores, but it's sold at popular grocery chains, and I think as people discover the taste, it will be come even more popular. Easy to make just like most packaged Mac and Cheese. I think the macaroni is bigger than big K's and still cooks a perfect el dente. I heat the foil packet of cheese in the water to liquify it then remove beforee adding the macaroni to the boil. Grocery lists this at about five bucks a box, and has occasional sales at near the Amazon price, so with free shipping you can't do much better, too bad I couldn't find the bacon bits version it was great. Recommended.

I love Cracker Barrel Macaroni & Cheese because it tastes so good with the rich flavored cheddar; better than the mac & cheese with the powdered cheese or Velveeta. Great that I can buy this online in a pack of 3 because the grocery store I usually go to doesn’t sell the regular sharp cheddar kind.

This is the best Mac and cheese on the market. It is actually large enough to give a comfortable four servings, unlike Kraft. It reheats decently, unlike Kraft. And my favorite, it requires no extra ingredients like butter that you might not have on hand in a vacation rental or a dorm, the sauce is complete in its bag. It can feel hard to justify that it’s triple the price from Kraft, but it many ways it is a better value.

The only way this could be better is if it was healthier by using at least some amount of whole grains in the pasta. It would be five star if the pasta was majority whole grain. I like the liquid cheese pack as opposed to powered "cheese" packs. I like extra sharp cheese, and this is at least somewhat sharp, which is a plus. I add veggies (corn, green beans, etc.) and pour barbeque sauce and veggie bacon bits on it for more taste and nutrition. Doing that makes a complete meal with one entree. A bit spendy, but the quality makes it worth using.

If you've never had this there is something seriously wrong with your Cheese-O-Meter. This Cracker Barrel Mac is soooo good. In fact all the flavors are knock your sox off good. The restaurant down the street has Mac and cheese for ten bucks and it's not any better than this. You really should treat yourself. Just make sure any children you know don't get wind of this stuff. If they do it's game over. You won't get away with the two for a dollar stuff ever again.

The quality is great, every time I boil the pasta I can be assured that I'll be coming out with whole, beautiful, aldente Pasta every time. The cheese packets, I could easily mistake it for Velveeta it melts easily and evenly into the pasta and sets well when the pasta cools, it blends fairly well when adding milk also.The flavor was great overall. I'm not sure you could ask for more out of mac and cheese to be honest.

Buying this in the 3 pack is the wisest savings unless there is a special offer of some kind, at this point. Great cheddar flavor comes through, I like to add some cream cheese and carnation evaporated milk; sometimesI use the dry cheddar packet of the Betty Crocker Au Gratin potatoes and add crispy bacon or cubed hamthat I've carmalized a bit in some maple syrup; You can add some shredded parmesan and a sprinkle of taco powder, too! Be creative! Grilled turkey sausage, diced up...add some chopped bell peppers or roasted red ones!If you like milder cheese flavor, this isn't your Choice, I like a rich cheddar taste,so I lean to this brand in the mac and cheese.

Came in yesterday and so we tried it. Easy enough, but personally we both thought the cheese sauce was much to concentrated. Would be better if some milk were stirred in to dilute and maybe a little butter. It would also prevent it from drying up on the plate before finishing.
