Review: Bamboe Spice packets make excellent shortcut for flavorful Indonesian dishes - We were introduced to these spice packets while living in Indonesia 20 years ago (Kare, Opor Ayam, Nasi Goreng to name a few of the flavors). They have wonderful flavor and are marvelously absent of MSG (other brands like Indofoods use MSG). But rather than cooking them according to the directions on the packet, I tend to mix the packet with a can of coconut milk and pour it over chicken in a baking dish, and bake at about 375 degrees until the meat is done. Easier than the traditional stovetop method, and just as rich tasting. Highly recommend.
