The most affordable and best at its price 4K webcam/stream cam
The classic G7 Stream setup. My review is not going to be like most others and not for how the camera is originally intended. In fact I have no idea how good or bad this product functions as a camera. I am using this device as a webcam/video input channel for live video feed on my pc.If you’re reading this review and want to do the same thing here’s what you need:Elgato cam linkA high quality 4K hdmi to mini hdmi, I recommend blue riggerA proxy battery, one that works from being plugged in to the mains power. I forgot the name of the product, just search G7 mains battery and it’s a little power cable and adapter unit for a bunch of lumix cameras. Now that you have that set up I can talk a little about the camera.I’m very impressed given its age how well this camera holds up. It’s an incredible way to affordably get clean 4K video stream. I have to play around with the settings to see if I can enhance things like the auto focus. Unless of course the auto focus of this camera is just weaker than the higher range cameras which I see pro steamers using. All in all I highly recommend this camera, I recommend it as a webcam/video recorder. For photographs you will have to read another review, but for incredibly high quality footage at an affordable price I believe this camera to be one of the best, if not the best at its price point. It can compete with cameras costing over £200 more than itself.Throughly impressed

Very happy with this camera.
My first serious camera. I'm happy with the features and video quality, so far it has been up to any task. I don't have any term of comparison, because this is my only camera but I give it 5 stars as it is up to my expectations. It is stylish, small and light the batteries run for hours, the LCD is perfect, the menus are complex but full of options and possibilities. The only big con for me is the fact it doesn't have headphones output.I should mention that the mic input also works well as line input, which means you can connect the line out of your external audio recorder into the mic input of the camera. When doing this, I recommend to set the gain on the camera to the minimum -12dB so it won't clip, at the same time it reduces the noise floor of the pre amplifier. Last note concerning audio, the internal stereo mic of the camera is surprisingly good, incredible for internal mic.Concerning the lens 14-42mm, so far so good, it is very versatile. Later I can get a Olympus 9mm and the Panasonic 45-175m to cover all ranges.

Superb
Superb camera. Light and full of features. Be careful if you buy an external flags, as you must buy one that is specifically for micro four thirds cameras. I have just ordered the Nissin i40, as all the photo shops say that for the money it is the best one for this camera. The TTL feature is a must for quality photos without drowning out the subject. I also bought the adapter, so I can use all my Canon lenses with it. 4K video is top quality, however ensure your computer can cope with it. I have a 10 year old Mac Pro and it wasn't good enough. Thus, I had to spend £2700 on a new Mac Pro. Obviously, there is no need to spend that amount of money, just make sure the machine can cope. All in all, a top buy.

Great for Videos
Great camera, Very good at picture quality and amazing at videos. If you are getting this camera, the main reason should be for videos. The pictures are great but the main purpose of the camera is for 4k videos.

A worthy successor to the G6.
As an owner of the Panasonic G6, I was a little worried that I wouldn't find the upgrade worth it. On paper, the improvements aren't massive unless you really want the 4k video. And I guess this is the 'killer' feature. As it happens I really like it. The dual control dials make this a much easier camera for anyone who is used to owning a pro spec DSLR to switch to. I found the G6's single command dial a pain to use. The solid feel of the dial is so nice I find myself spinning the dials just for fun. Sad I know!High ISO performance has been improved. Out of the camera JPG's look pretty clean at ISO 6400 and RAW's I applied a dollop of noise reduction in post. Still very usable given the sensor is way smaller than a full frame Nikon D750 I am used to.The AF seems spot on and I don't feel like it's slow. And of course with this being a CSC, Panasonic have given us a truly silent shooting mode. This came in so handy at a recent wedding where I could discretely take photos without anyone even hearing a click. All in all I really really like the G7 and I feel like it's been a good value upgrade from the G6. This will be ideal as the camera I do video work with and use for stills on family outings.

... bit of a gamble because I have always had amazing results from Canon products
I honestly thought switching from Canon to Panasonic was a bit of a gamble because I have always had amazing results from Canon products. This camera is really easy to use straight out the box without reading any manuals and offers an amazing amount of settings and options not to mention the fact that the picture quality is unreal! I love this camera, it shoots 4K, it's amazing!

Great value 4k Lumix model
An excellent camera providing all the benefits of the Lumix G range - lightweight, great viewfinder and screen, good lenses. This model is special because the 4k functionaity means you can catch perfect stills from a short bust of activity or record great 4k video. Value for money giving a camera that has all the features wanted for any requirement whilst being able to be given to family to be used in a fully automatic manner. Recommend the YouTube videos on using the G range and the special features of this model.
