Perfect Fit
The media could not be loaded. I purchase the doggie door. My American Eskimo is 40 lbs. And as you see in the video he needs some practice but is doing a great job. I put it up myself and it was actually very easy to do. I wish I bought this earlier. It will be great for him because he loves the winter so instead of cracking the door open and it being cold in the house, I can now let him go out the doggie door onto the screened in porch anytime he wants. Also, I like the fact it doesn't have to have a panel to slide down and lock, it has 3 locks to keep it closed and locked. Love this.

Strong aluminum frame
The media could not be loaded. We have always had dogs and consider having a dog door a necessity after the first night of our dog waking my wife up every 15 minutes just to stare around and do nothing. With a new larger dog we needed to replace our old dog door which has been used for 18 years. This seems strong and sturdy with an aluminum frame that will not warp like plastic. This will be installed in the porch door. There are plastic sleeves which fit into a groove and have lines which are easy to cut with a scissors to match door thickness. The corners are then taped to hold the plastic in place. Stainless steel bolts are provided to secure both sides. These bolts are long and likely need to be cut. I have an angle cutter with a thin metal cutoff wheel to do this. Stainless is hard to cut and maybe they should provide some rubber caps for those who don't have a tool to cut this with. Template and instructions are straightforward. I like the vacation door to seal off the entrance when away. It has a plastic core to make it light and thin aluminum cover sheet to make it impervious to rodents. We are in a windy area and the rubber flap only has one magnet on each side. Our prior door had two magnets on each side to keep out the wind. I hope one is enough. Our use is inly in the summer and this entrance is for the porch. Nice looking door.

Dog door
Great door, puppy loves it, runs in and out all day. We fitted it in a screened in porch so works perfectly, great value for the money!

First dog door...had to try a different brand
Overall I was not satisfied with this pet door and I ordered a different brand. This is a single flap door, which could be OK - but this flap was not centered correctly and therefore does not come close to sealing. Large gap on one side means bugs can fly in, and heated or cooled air escapes. The installation was also not as smooth as I'd hope. I don't like the plastic inserts or how you have to trim them down and then get it to all sit in some small grooves... The next dog door i bought didn't suffer from any of those problems.

Replaced Old doggy door
I was in need of a replacement doggy door for a while but the XL ones were always so expensive. I finally came across this one which is almost like the one I have now but new. The old one is just old, rusty, and hard to open. I finally found an XL door for under $100 so I had to get it. I wish they had the XL in white but hey, it works. Its better then the one I have now and slides open and close easily. For the price, you cant go wrong. The only other option is to go automatic, but those are way more expensive.

Affordable pet door for steel-core or wood door
Our home has a brick exterior, so the only place to install a pet door is in an actual door. I have seen large pet doors available at my local big-box hardware for over $100, so this was an appealing alternative.Pros: the included template makes cutting the door precise. It fits a variety of door thicknesses, from steel to wood. This kit is conceptually simple and goes together in an afternoon. My dog, a fully grown (and very nice) pit bull had no problem immediately recognizing it and using it.Cons: My door had a poorly-threaded nut in one of the 4 positions (photo 3). This took an hour of extra work. The relatively thinner door I was working with means there was a lot of excess bolt length to cut with a rotary tool (photo 1). Only one flap means the pet door is not double-insulated. Holding the inner frame, outer frame, and trimmed inner spacer pieces actually required 3 of us working together (see all the hands in photo 4!)Suggestions to a purchaser: Mark the bottom center of your door, and the bottom center of the template. Cut the template’s top and 2 sides to match your pet-door size, but leave the bottom as an alignment tool for the door’s base. For the large pet door, it traces to 4.25 inches above the base of the door. Your pet may vary. Use the inside frame (without the flap or nut sleeves) as a drill template and separately drill the front and back sides of the door with 1/4” drill, halfway through the core, in order to get good bolt alignment (photo 5).Suggestions to the manufacturer: switch to a nylon bolt to make it easier to trim, and more forgiving if a thread-nut has a problem. Make the thread-nuts longer so the bolts do not have to be so long, and easier to hide the length. Include a disposable tube of caulk in the kit (photo 2).
