Amazing grip very versatile it allows many grip positions and feels extremely durable. The steel is of supperior quality and still sharpens with ease the knife is durable enough to pro form any task but the blade dose need to be maintained though the tough coating dose more than enough to shield the knife from the elements. The tip of the blade is a hypodermic needle this is great but must be respected and should only be used in combat against softer targets the edge is sharp enough but not razor sharp but can easily become sharp scary sharp with a quick pass through a work sharp / strop. The sheath is amazing I love the drop carry and molle compatability it offers everything about this knife is high quality and will not fail under the most abusive conditions. The training knife is virtually indestructible and mimics the fe9 perfectly. Crkt did an excellent job on this design and the shipping was great the box arrived on time and in great condition I am looking forward to future products and hopefully crkt can develope a good field sharpener to accompany this knife.

If your fingers are bigger than what fits a medium glove the grip becomes challenging.

This is the most well thought out fighting knife I've ever used. Even though its big it feels perfect in the hand. The grip is perfect, but it is alot more ash gray than black. Called CRKT customer service who told me this was normal and the website pics had darker lighting. C'mon Crkt if it looks black thats what i want not ash gray. Get the trainer blade also, great training asset.

What an absolute beast. The pictures don't even begin to do it justice. You really get what you pay for here. This is not a cheaply made knife. Very well thought out. It feels as though it belongs in my had. Before actually having it in my possession, I thought it would be huge in my hand. Nope, fits perfect. The handle is contoured for many different ways to hold it. It feels right no matter how its held. The blade itself is mean looking in person. Its much thicker than I had thought it would be. The one negative thing, and only one, is the cutting edge was dull, like its been out digging rocks dull. The top edge however was quite sharp. Both are getting a touch up. The sheath is pure artwork. It can be mounted anywhere. Just for giggles I tried it on my Blackhawk thigh rig, yup even mounts there. This monster is the complete package. Best bang for your buck. The trainer is pretty cool as well.

i have purchased CKRT products for the past 10++ years and have always been satsifiedaside from being well made, the weight and balance is good. I read complaints about the grip and i have large hands and have no concernswhat i really liked were the accessories and inclusions: the synthetic partner is a nice touch and i DO use it for trainingthe SHEATH is one of the best i have seen in construction and versitility and i have ALOT.......the extra nylon straps are potentially helpful for the more esoteric of carry stylesif you find from a vendor that has it in the <200 range as i did, it is a great value

very well made blade, good balance and heft. The handle can take some getting used to but is very functional. Included in the packaging was a training knife of plastic, same design. I did not know this so I purchased the training knife as well now I have two. Anyway the quality is excellent and an amazing value for the price.

Very well made. Love the double edge point. Grooves on the top edge of the blade to apply pressure with hand. The real bonus is the sheath. Very well thought out system. Had no issues attaching to my molle system on my backpack.
