When I originally bought this violin, I missed the fact that I had mistakenly chosen plywood style. Speaking from experience, plywood style is no good because… Let’s face it… Give it six months and you’ll be replacing an instrument due to deterioration and breakage. I’m about to start teaching three of my kids violin. Personally, I did not want to spend money on an instrument and then have to spend more six months later. Thus, I returned my first purchase and bought the solid wood style, which is what I desired from the very beginning, anyways. I’d rather spend a little extra money NOW to get the size that my kids currently need and have it not break on them down the road. I am very pleased, and my kids are excited to begin their lessons. I would/will buy again in the future.

I’m writing this review one year after purchasing the PHOENIX 4/4 Full Size Violin Set for my high schooler, who has five years of playing experience. The quality has held up very well for the price—solid wood construction, and the included accessories (two bows, extra strings, rosin, tuner, mute, and case) are all still in good shape. The violin produces a loud, pleasant sound and continues to work well after a year of regular use. Overall, this is a great option for students or adult beginners looking for a reliable and affordable instrument.

I really wish I could have seen something like this before I got this violin. I hope I can help you.I bought this violin as a beginner, and I knew it was cheap ($85), but it definitely wasn't worth it. The tuner-knob-things (i forgot what they were called) wouldn't work, and two of the strings went slack and unplayable. The bow came frayed, but it was a little better once I tightened it up. The body was cheaply made, and I don't think the neck was painted very well.Luckily, the case was nice.Overall, I'm going to have to give this product 1 star. If I were you, I would save my money and maybe pay, like, $50 more for a better violin. Thank you for reading my review.

Great for beginners

It's no Stradivari, but a whole violin kit for under $100, that value price can't be beat, but there are some flaws to be expected. It doesn't stay tuned for very long and I'm certain I could rig it up in a particular way to fix the problem since it's the pegs and the peg holes that just move a bit too freely, but overall, it plays, is the right size, and comes with everything needed to start playing.I'm sure it doesn't sound the absolute best, but it doesn't sound bad either, and I thinl this should be a perfectle fine first violin for anyone who can't afford the higher entry point price of most recommended violins, but still wants to get to experience playing a violin and doesn't mind having to re-tune every time. It's I've functional and for a whole violin kit under $100 that's saying a lot. I've also also seen other reviews suggesting to replace the strings that came with it, and I think they're correct and that it would make a noticeable difference, but I'm waiting until the strings actually bust to replace them cuz I'm cheap I guess, and I can still practice finger placement and dexterity with the janky strings lol

Beautiful body and case. Hardware is total junk! Tuners would not hold or support any tension and would constantly move back. The bridge, pegs, and tail piece was way too thin and flexible. I could not tell if it was real or a toy.The bow came all shredded in spots. I cleaned it up but with the state of the imstrument, it didnt matter. I don't play violin/fiddle. I'm a guitar, drum, piano, player for numerous years.

I bought this for my son. He said it was a great deal. Came with a lot of accessories.He is a beginner and it’s working well for him so far. No issues as others have mentioned with broken strings etcGood quality for the price and very pretty
