What color is the governor drive gear for a 700r4 corvette transmission? i am want transmission to stay in 1st and 2nd gears longer at low speed.

Factory is green. Not blue but this one is the same size. People change weights and springs on the governor to increase the rpm shift points. I don’t the a different gear would alter the shift points.

Will this fit a phase 1 (first generation 1983) 700r4?

Compare the broken governor gear you have to the image in the ad for the new one, the gear teeth should turn the same direction to match some 700r4 s turn left and some older ones turn right. The gear is very inexpensive. When you put the new one in you will be surprised at how easy it was and what a difference it makes on the shifting. Good luck.
