Right handed only
I have three kids with dysgraphia - and I had noticed they all form their letters really odd (like fromteh bottom up.). I got this for them to see/feel/practice how to form letters properly. Did I mention they are all teens?? Somehow the correct way to form letters was overlooked - for all three!Caveat - this really is only 'correct' for folks that are right handed.

If your kid doesn't write yet,
This makes a great intro to writing for prek to 1st grade and even to improve way of writing for my 2nd grader whos writting still needs even size writting. Gives him a better idea of how it feels to do perfect straight lines down or the O's of the lettes with bellys or curves.

Good size boards. The nubers/letters/shapes are extremely shallow.

Works perfectly
This is really nice. Solid wood, not to heavy. Maybe could break off you stepped on it.. but it's good quality and no splinters.The pencil works good. I just wish there was a way to keep it in like magnetic thing or something, because it will probably get lost otherwise. But that's me only complaint. This is very good and our kids enjoy it.
