This does not work with the Samsung phones. You have to buy the Samsung brand.

Bought this intending to use it as a connector between headphones and my android cell phone, but it does not work. No sound comes through at all.

My situation was how do I get audio from my computer to my iphone for recording and general use on social media. Before I had been able to do it with one interface attached to the iphone and another to my computer and then some cables between them in stereo. With this little device (really just a short usbc - female 1/8 inch TRS) I can plug into the headphone jack of my computer interface, listening to the monitors still, and anything that comes out of my monitor/headphone mix will go to my phone.The only mild downside is there's obviously no volume control on the iphone side (at least not with the stock iphone video app) but my interface (a motu M2) has a volume control. For the record I keep it at about 9 or 10 o'clock, but you'll need to experiment there.This greatly simplified my setup and setup time (since it's my phone and I just do videos for the fun of it), all I need to do is plug in a couple wires and I'm good to go. As a bonus you could hook up anything with a standard aux output from a minidisc player to a walkman to a synthesizer direct to your phone. I wasn't sure it would work, but I'm so happy that it did.

Like many others, I had trouble finding a compatible mic adapter for the Action 4, until I found this one. Works perfect with no audio issues. Works perfect for motorcycle helmet setups, if you are planning to motovlog.

I recorded audio with this adapter and a $7 adapter and the audio quality was night and day different. If you need good quality sound, opt for this one.

Microphone did not work. Customer service was prompt in responding and after a few troubleshooting steps, they decided the mic was defective and needed replacing. I chose to return it for a refund, and I will wait a while to decide on my next step.
