desertcart.com : Kuju Coffee Premium Single-Serve Pour Over Coffee | Ethically Sourced, Specialty Grade, Eco-Friendly | Basecamp Blend, Medium Roast, 10-pack : Grocery & Gourmet Food Review: Great alternative when you can’t brew your own, but comes at a cost. - Bottom line up front: I’m a fan and I’ll be ordering this again. I’ve been looking for something like this forever. In Asia Starbucks offers a similar single cup pourover prouduct called Origami but I haven’t been able to find it in the US. I’ve tried everyhing from instant coffee to Starbucks Via but nothing really comes close to the real thing. I resigned myself to bringing a small french press with me when I travel, until I found Kuju. Pros: freshness, flavor, design, volume per cupo The quality and freshness are great and the design makes it very easy to use. I actually prefer the design of Kuju over the Starbucks Oragami pour over for two reasons. The first is the way it sits on top of the glass. It fits my wide or narrow mouth glasses equally well and fits snugly onto the glass. The second is that the filter pouch is sealed with a perferated tear-off edge. The Starbucks design kind of pops open all at once so I ended up spilling grounds while trying to set up the filter to sit on top of the glass. I really enjoy the taste. I ordered a medium roast and it was well balanced and fit the taste profile. The instructions say to use 8 oz per pour. I’m a big coffee drinker and 8 oz doesn’t cut it for me. Due to the cost per cup, I’ve been reluctant to use multiple packages and just started using more water per pour. I like strong coffee and the boldness of the coffee was sufficient to deliver enough taste despite me using more than the recommended amount of water per cup. Cons: cost At just over $2 per cup, it’s a little more than I preferred to spend. Granted, I’m not using this daily and it’s really for when I don’t have my regular options. That said, I like to drink about 2 cups per day and I cringe a little knowing how much it’s costing me. Again, exception not the norm. Review: Fantastic coffee for camping or at home! - I bought a big pack to bring for a camping trip this month. My friends and I are all avid coffee drinkers and we had been searching for a good coffee to bring on trips. I first came across Kuju when I was browsing REI and the associate had recommended it as one of their hit coffee products. I bought a single pour-over to try it and WOW - it was a game changer. Immediately, I searched for Kuju online and found the big pack on desertcart. Not only is the coffee super easy to use (just slip it over a mug and pour water), the quality was also amazing, extremely smooth and had fantastic flavors. All my friends on the trip couldn't get enough of it and it was something we looked forward to each morning! We didn't end up using the entire pack on our trip so I brought it home and have been drinking Kuju coffee every morning despite a coffee shop being right around the corner. The pour overs are super affordable, convenient and best of all tasty! 10/10 would recommend! Looking forward to trying the other blends that Kuju offers :)

GREAT STUFF and here's a rundown on its competition
I've now tried competing single-portion pour-over coffees from Copper Cow, Tribo, Twin Peaks, Kuju, and Casa (sold in local retail). Comparison follows. Kuju "Basecamp blend - Medium Roast" is at or near the top for sheer coffee flavor. I often drink coffees with milk, but some have such beautiful balance and complexity that the flavor seems wasted (blunted) by milk; those go particularly well with or after food. Kuju is one, surpassing my former #1 "good black" brand (Tribo "Guatamalan"). Both are expensive at $2 per serving in 10-packs (Tribo recently increased from $1.60; Copper Cow is even pricier, but includes condensed-milk packet for the Vietnamese serving style.) Tribo, another top-quality brand, sells several regional and blend coffees in pour-over format; trying a few assortments led to preferring Tribo's Guatamalan just mentioned. Another complex floral medium roast, "good black."

My new camp coffee!
Great flavor! I drink my good coffee black & this coffee is amazing. Boiled some water as soon as it arrived, definitely going to enjoy this when camping! No more cowboy coffee grinds at the bottom of the cup. As with a drip coffee from a café, the water takes a minute or 2 to fill up your cup, but boy was it worth it. Will be buying more medium roast Basecamp blend! Considering the individualy wrapped, unique pour-over filter design and the quality of coffee; i would say the price is fair* considering the objective purpose: a quality, single-serve coffee packet for when you're not at home. *if giant coffee corporations paid a fair wage for their product, we wouldn't be having this price comparison. My parents raised me to be aware of where my money's going and who's doing what with it... Unfortunately this systemic disparity makes me acknowledge that in today's economy this is truly a luxury cup of coffee resulting in 4 of 5 stars for price. Still highly recommended for THOSE days (camping, power outage, emergency preps, bug out bag coffee, or just for a local prehike coffee)...
