Love this

Was looking for a new knife block and these came with high praise. Impressed with the sharpness, cleaning is stress free, several colors to choose from. Def worth the value.

Cool but feels like a gimmick

The knives are not that high quality, I really doubt they are going to hold their edge. The block is decent, what you'd expect for a cheap knife set but nothing special. The UV light feels like a gimmick but it's a cool idea. Overall it's a decent cheap set if you really need knives and you're okay with buying cheap knowing that they're not going to last.

I need a refund or a new set

I got this set two months ago and i barely used it and the tips came off. I recommended these to someone else and they will have the same issue. I will appreciate a refund or a new set.Thanks.

Knife set

A bit flimsy

The knives seem to be good quality

Right out of the box, I was a bit disappointed with the weight of the knife block. It feels like very light cheap plastic. Maybe it is just because I am used to heavy wood knife blocks but I would have felt better about the block if it was at least weighted a bit for stability. The knives (which is the important part) feel solid and are sharp. The knives are nice looking and so far work splendidly for every cutting, chopping slicing job we have used them for. I think this is a nice set for the price point and does not take up much space. The light and fan are of secondary concern for me as I always hand wash and dry my knives anyway.

Love these knives

Perfect set of knives

Calidad media

Por el precio me esperaba algo con más calidad, el soporte tanto de los mangos de los cuchillos como del porta cuchillos es de plástico, no se ven nada resistentes. Aún lo cargaré para ver cómo funciona pero muy mala compra

Great knives, not sure about the "gimmick," though...

Alright, first and foremost, great knives. Cut like a dream, look great, feel great in the hand with the exception of the paring knife, but I probably shouldn't be trying to use it with a cutting board (as opposed to cutting/paring/peeling something in the air) because there isn't a ton of room under the handle and that hurts the hand.Oh, and the kitchen shears aren't terribly ergonomic either because of the way the handles are shaped. They're certainly nice, and I like that they're included in the block and even have a little bottle-opener cutout, but there's a pretty good reason that most handles are rounded and not straight like these ones because if you try to slide your hand all the way inside them, it's gonna hurt to do the repetitive cutting motion...Bear in mind that the "6 knives" is a little misleading because it's only 4 knives plus the scissors, plus the sharpening rod. Got it?OK, so good knives, very pretty, time to talk about the weird stuff! The description says "built in sharpening rod," and I assumed that meant your knives were *automatically* sharpened by putting them into the block somehow. Like when you put them in and pulled them out, they'd be kept sharp by friction again some sort of sharpening surface. Am I crazy for thinking that? Because the "built in" sharpening rod is just a normal rod that's included in the set.You pull it out of the "block" and then hone/sharpen your knives. I haven't needed to do that yet, but it's just a normal rod... Furthermore, a quick youtube video showed me a rod that had a special sort of "ramp," let's call it, near the base of the rod to help you with your knife angle when sharpening. This doesn't have that. It goes from a perfectly flat hand guard, let's call it, to the rod portion, so I guess you sorta have to know how to use one ahead of time...? I'll have to figure it out when the time comes. After that, the "smart" portion of the block seems to be that you can *plug it in, charge it, and use it to sanitize your knives with an ultraviolet light.* While that's kinda interesting, I don't really see it as super practical. Why would you put away a dirty knife? You'd wash it and dry it first, right? Wouldn't the little fan that's built into the block just end up sucking up airborne germs and whatever else from inside your kitchen and deposit that on your knives...? Why do I need to charge my *knife block* of all things?I'm no expert when it comes to knives besides knowing what cuts well and what doesn't — and these cut really nicely — but the extra gimmicks don't hold water if you ask me. The price seems good, but again, I'm not someone who'd know any better. All I can really tell you is how it works, that it cuts really well, and that it looks gorgeous. Maybe that's the point here: aesthetics first and foremost? I don't want to impugn the knives or the company, though...4/5 for quality knives, they lose a star because of the weird gimmicks and borderline false advertising. (Mostly confusing advertising, I guess...)

Sharp Knives, But Handle Design Not Good

Block:- The block has an all plastic body which it fairly light and gives it a slightly cheap feel to it.- The colour is a very dark metallic green depending on the angle being viewed.- It uses the current USB-C port standard to charge.- The front has a touch sensitive power button to enable the UV/Drying function. When enabled, it lights up at the bottom edge with a pulsing glow. The fan is fairly quiet, but can be heard.- Under the cover, the knives only fit in one way, which is hard to determine on 1st glance, so it may take a 2nd insert before it goes in the right way.- The copper colour on the block as well as on the ends of the knives does give it a more stylish look, but it’s all plastic which quickly detracts from the premium feel.- I’m not sure how useful the drying function is as most people would clean their knives and dry them before placing back into the drawer or knife block, not sure who would put a dirty wet knife into a knife block.Knives:- Handles on the knives have a “trout” scale design meant to help with grip, but the pattern is so light and the handle material rigid plastic, the scales don’t seem to help with grip.- I’m not a huge fan of the handle shape, not sure what it is, but it doesn’t sit well in my hands. It’s possible the highly tapered design makes my hand feel like it wants to slip off the back of the knife.- The blades actually come fairly sharp. It cuts through paper with ease as well as semi frozen hotdogs. With less effort than my existing kitchen knife.- For the fruit, chef & serrated bread knives, there is minimal to no finger guard (where the handle meets the unsharpened back of the blade that prevents your finger from moving forward). The handles for these three knives slope right into the heel of the blade, which I’ve already indicated is very sharp. I sometimes hold my knives with my index and thumbs on the sides of the blade just in front of the handle that provides me with a bit more leverage. With the top of the handle sloped steeply into the blade, it positions my lower fingers very close to the cutting edge, which is not good.- When cutting food using the Chef’s knife because the way the handle meets the bottom of the blade, trying to cut a hotdog in half I found the handle hitting the hotdog and unable to perform a complete cut. My fingers are also very low and my knuckles hit the food/cutting board before the heel of the blade contacts the cutting board.- The all black “non-stick” coating is a lot easier to see dirt/grease/stains than the standard silver knives.- The “built-in” knife sharpener is just a sharpening/honing rod. Sharpening is manual and you probable need a bit of skill to use one to ensure proper blade cutting angle. It would have been better if a sharpening stone/system was attached to the side of the block or positioned in the slot where you insert the knives so it would be easier to sharpen vs a rod.- The included scissor is sharp and cuts paper well. The edge of the scissors are smooth and don’t have scalloping to help grip wet foods like chicken. There is an integrated bottle cap opener on the side. One item I don’t like is the handle. The rectangular shape is not very comfortable or fitting on my hand. A larger hole for my fingers or something more rounded/arched on the outer handles would have made holding the scissors easier.Final Impression:Overall, I would rate the Zeekmuss smart kitchen knife set with UV sterilization block ok. The knives and scissors were sharp out of the box, but the weird handle design and “trout” scaling on the handle were not great. The shape seems to want to force my hand backwards while the scaling doesn’t help with the grip. The lack of finger guards makes holding the knife a bit questionable as your fingers are very close to the cutting edge. Although the UV sterilization and drying function sounds cool, it may be more of a gimmick as most people would wash and dry their knives after using and before placing back into the block (at least that’s what I normally do).
