When Inches Count!
When you think you have it all latched up and find out you are a couple inches shy of the jamb you can resort to this door know set to get the extra inches needed to shut the front door. The old house had an extended length door latch on the old doorknob. It was a bit disappointing to not have the length needed to mate up with the door knob. Two inches makes a difference. Easy to install and now it takes a key to enter the domicile, Thanks to the extra-long latch.

Outstanding door lock assembly
These door locks are extremely hard to find if not impossible at your local hardware store I spent more time and money in fuel trying to find one impossible I searched Amazon found this door lock and it's outstanding easy to install smooth as silk installed on an older log home that had this style lock don't waste your time going anywhere else you'll never find them in a local hardware store anymore. 10 stars

It was nice to find a doorknob with a 5” backset but unfortunately this is a very poorly made item. The lock switch did not work and the latch only recoils when you turn the knob to the left, but stays in when turned to the right.

Easy to install, definitely better made than the one I replaced. Especially where the door knob goes through.

Exactly what I needed
Product was exactly as described, works great for this old door that has larger backset. Half the price or less than the options you can find at the big monopoly stores. Only bicker I have is it's bass akwards, while unlocked it is straight up and down (vertical) and locked its horizontal. Only cosmetics but after having "normal" doorknobs for 20 years it's a little different to get used to. Other than that crispy operation.

Operates smoothly, is sized correctly, and works as expected.
This was a surprisingly difficult product to find anywhere, and this is the only one I could locate on Amazon or local brick and mortar. Fortunately, it does the job perfectly. It fit properly with the standard doorknob latch mechanism, was sized correctly for the backset, and operates very smoothly with no obvious indications that it will wear out prematurely.

The reason I didn't give it five stars is because it can sometimes be a bit sticky when locking the door. But other than that works pretty darn good and these things are hard to come by, so thank you Amazon.
