I ordered these for the last eclipse, and I'll admit to having some trepidation about looking up at the sun with just some cardboard glasses, but these worked perfectly. I'll be honest, I thought these looked like cheap little 3D glasses you'd get at the movie theater and couldn't possibly work. My husband got them so we could view the eclipse recently and to my surprise, they worked perfectly! They're very dark, you can't see much unless you're looking at the eclipse. My eyes never hurt from looking up at the sun so they seemed to protect them very well. We even shared a couple pairs with our neighbors
