So fun and memorable
I loved this build! The instructions were a little unclear at a couple spots but nothing that couldn't be figured out. I thought the bags were numbered in order of necessity but I ended up opening 4-5 bags for just steps 1-9. In the end, a really nice outcome and now Johnny 5 sits on my desk at work. So fun to build.

Missing pieces
Missing pieces, couldn’t assemble and had to return. Very disappointed.

Robot from Short Circuit
This was a fun build with a lot of nostalgic detail. The pieces fit together well, and the instructions were easy to follow. It took about an hour to finish at a casual pace. The final model looks great on a shelf and has enough articulation to pose it slightly. I liked how it captured the character’s look, especially in the head and arms. Some of the pieces are small, so I’d recommend a tray or flat surface while building. This is great for fans of Short Circuit.

Military Quality Robot? Seriously?
At least three similar Johnny 5 kits are on the market. Two claim to be motorized; they are not.This one might be the least rickety of the bunch, but all are incredibly fragile. Most crumble in the hand when trying to pick them up, making them unsuitable as a toy. Many pieces barely cling with no more than a millimetre contact. Necks vary slightly, but are delicate to the extreme.From an engineering standpoint, they are poorly designed, often missing opportunities to strengthen the build. Upping the part count at the expense of sturdiness appears to be the goal of the torso design.
