Solid Build and Good Design
There are some users who have complained about kensington lock actually damaged their laptop's exterior due to the extreme force of the locking mechanism. It really depends on the particular laptop you are using. Most laptops do not have such problem. My laptop, which is ASUS F3Jc, works perfectly with "MicroSaver DS".(1) This "MicroSaver DS" is a solid build from head to toe. Expensive, yet a good buy still.(2) "MicroSaver DS" is a much better version than "MicroSaver". The major improvement is the lock. The card trick is not going to work on DS.(3) The key is symmetric. It is simply brilliant.(4) It comes with a big solid plastic clamp to hold the rest of the cable when you only need a short length. Excellent design.Important note: the Kensington lock only prevents your laptop from being removed physically. You still need other measures to protect your data. It is never a good idea to leave your laptop unattended in an open space for a long period, say more than 30 minutes.

A credible deterrant?
I bought this and really not sure now whether it was worth it. The Kensington Microsaver DS itself is very well built and i doubt anyone will pick the lock in a hurry. The cable also looks pretty solid. But when i was choosing the lock i missed out a fundamental - which is that the kensington lock slot itself isnt really that secure - on any computer with any lock. This is something which i intuitively realised once i actually used the lock. But just do a quick youtube search and you will see how easily a kensington lock can be yanked out of the slot.I think you're much better off taking your laptop with you wherever you go, and then you also save the hassle of carrying a lock in your bag too!The Microsaver DS weighs 242 grams with one of its keys.

A very well made and solid lock system with a easy to use key rather than the irritatingly small numbers of a digital lock system that I used to use made this a really good buy. The sold plastic coated cable and the lock for a second device (laptop/screen/whatever) meant that it was a far better buy than I expected and has proved to be really easy to use and has proved very useful.

Quick and easy security
I bought this to secure a laptop in the car. It was easy to install and is unobtrusive and simple to use. It is strong enough to act as a deterrent to all but a determined thief with a bolt cutter.

Much better than expected!
I was after a real Kensington lock and that was what was delivered. After looking at other product reviews and seeing the disappointment in not getting the product described, I went for this as it looked like you would get what was shown. To my surprise, the item was the twin laptop lock system. Add this to the thick strong plastic coated cable, the clip to keep it folded in my bag and you can understand my happiness.

Suits the job perfectly
I've seen other Kensington Notebook locks before and I know a lot of them take little effort to break into them - even ones with keys rather than combinations. This one though, is as secure as they get. I definitely recommend it to anyone with seciurity issues.

Works well and is very robust.
Works well and is very robust. No problems. They key was a little stiff to turn with my Samsung NC10 Netbook. Turning the key pushes the rubber seal tightly against the computer case and this requires a little force. (In fact, I initially thought that the key would not turn). However, I imagine this tight seal to the computer case is actually a very good thing in terms of security.

Nice product
Works as a charm on the new Macbooks/Macbook Pros, as explained by Kensington.Seems almost unbreakable and locks have been improved (the trick of the card in the lock can't be used, here): the keys are flat and look like security ones.Nice product.
