Exactly like the picture once it was delivered my daughter took it out and played it. Sounded great really good quality.

This is NOT a quality instrument. It is a cheap and functional unit that works fine for the beginner, as the typical instrument sells for around $1000.That being said, it works, looks good, feels decent, and overall will get the beginner by as they go through learning pain.The hard case was what sold me on it. It shipped with your typical cleaning rod, cleaning cloth, adjustment screwdriver and they had enough decency to actually put in stoppers to keep the keys from banging around during shipping, something that was lacking on my first flute.The piccolo is hard to play, even as a flutist starting to develop my high register. Sharp and flat on the piccolo is inverse on the flute, so it will take some getting used to.It is small, so I highly recommend looking at videos on how to set up and hold the instrument.The airstream range is extremely narrow and precise on the piccolo, though the cheap build of this doesn't seem to actually cause issues in contrast with the Yamaha I tried. In fact, it seems to be far more precise and FORGIVING than the Mendini flute I main, which has such a precise sweet spot to produce middle and high register it actively works against me, which is why I am even able to produce any tone on the piccolo at this point.All in all 4 stars. It is cheap, works, and is probably the more "premium" of the cheap options out there. It isn't an instrument a beginner musician should purchase without firm understanding that the potential for the inability to produce notes or good notes at that is not the fault of this unit specifically, but a quirk of the piccolo itself. For the absolute beginner, I advise a flute, as the keys are nearly identical on both, but the flute itself is far easier to develop on initially.This will serve me well over the next year until I can save enough to get a Yamaha, Gemeinhardt, or Pearl, and as I progress if I notice any actual problems due to build quality I WILL revise my review.

My daughter loves her new piccolo. It’s just the right fit for her hands and age(13).
