Nice to have
A rather large hotplate (dimensions equivalent to a 2-cup soup bowl) and the moka pot. The hot plate has a temperature dial, not a button, to determine the heat. I guess from making coffee to keeping it warm. Its big enought to "git ya" if you're not careful. Ive gotten burnt at least once in past 3 months getting too close too soon. Making coffee is standard Moka procedures. Nothing to report. I like the large capacity which equals a cup for me. Thats why I got the 9-cup which fills my 16oz mug completely. Cleaning the pot is my next challenge. The insides are cramped for a brush to get in thoroughly. The pot on top has a pole up in the center that sends water thru the funnel. Meanwhile the water tank on the bottom has a thick thread around the mouth that screws in the pot. Its not impossible to brush or wipe clean but its not roomy either. I have not cleaned the top or bottom parts of pot. The coffee has darkened both of the insides. I will try to use the coffee cleaning tablets most likely. The main problem I have is the hotplate does not auto-shutoff. So I cannot set and forgets. Its closer to a stovetop where the fire has to be adjusted to not burn the coffee, the pot or your house.
