I love it. Good price and a great camera. I can't forget to mention/overhype the microphone though. I actually try to call people from my computer instead of my phone now because it allows me to work while I talk and my contacts hear me better through the web cam mic than my speaker phone on my brand new Galaxy. I also love the quality of the picture and the widescreen is awesome. The only thing that's rough upon purchase is that it's camera settings don't work on a MAC. But it says this right on the product description. This just means you can't customize the lighting settings. Which is essential to getting the most out of the high quality the camera has to offer- since, like any camera, a quality picture is dependent on the lighting of the environment it's in. That said, couple the camera with the Pro version of the 3rd party app called "WebCam Settings" which is about $8 in the Apple App Store, and it will grant you access all those settings. I've noticed them to be a little buggy with Skype, but barely and nothing a few extra clicks can't fix and the fact that it 'just works' on a Mac as soon as you plug-it in, at the very least offsets this minor inconvenience.

I bought this primarily for use with my Mac Mini. I have Adobe Premiere Elements and a Logitech C615 which is 1080p and has a really great picture, but for some reason it freezes when recording except when using iglasses but still has some lag. I have tried other webcams of lesser quality and they work fine but are nowhere near the resolution so I decided to buy this camera. My Mac Mini immediately recognized the camera and recording with Adobe worked without a problem, no freezes when the rocketfish camera is selected. However, there still is a distinct difference in the resolution when in low light, things tend to get a little orange. So, if you buy this camera I would still recommend iglasses as the quality improves tremendously with this app in low light, plus all the additional gadgets. If you are not familiar with the iglasses app google it. If you are not using Adobe Premiere Elements or a 3rd party (e.g., using Quicktime for recording (no iglasses required) or iMovie (requires iglasses) then the C615 is the best bet as it has excellent resolution and works well in low light.

This webcam is easy to install and it works great if you have extremely bright lighting. Just plug in the USB and that's it, no download deeded. This camera good for the price. Obviously, the Rocketfish 2.0MP Widescreen HD 720p USB Webcam is not a high end camera. The video feed is really dark and I basically need a spotlight on myself when I'm using it. Mounting the camera on my monitor is a pain because of the poorly designed adjustable mount. It can mount but there is nothing in place to make it hold on to your monitor, it falls off very easily. I've had it over a year and it works the same.

I searched specifically for a Mac compatible webcam and this showed up. Good price point. Decent reviews. Ok, I'll buy it!When it arrived, the packaging clearly says that full functionality is only available for PC Windows based machines. Mac OSX machines will get basic functionality...Disappointing. But, it works with Skype and FaceTime, so I'll keep it because returning is a hassle... the seller should definitely disclose the fine print from the product packaging, itself.

So I was very concerned about the quality of this product considering the low price. I saw mixed reviews, but decided to purchase.Setup was a breeze. I just plugged it into my Mac and done.I used it for Skype and Oovoo. The quality was really great. Clear HD, no weirdo auto focus, vivid color, etc.I was going to buy a few more for friends and family because of how impressed I was with it and its affordability.One week later after daily use, I turned it on and it was just dark. The only way I can describe it is as if the brightness when to -100 or something.Since I was on a mac I didn't have any software to adjust things like that, so I plugged it into my PC and installed the software thinking maybe the setting for the cam had altered or something and I could manually adjust it on a window pc with the software. The software was not the issue. Apparently the hardware went kaput. Even with the brightness at max it was hardly visible and and quality was horrendous... I thought about returning it, but I was just so disappointed and paid so little for it that I just didn't want to look at it any more and went out and bought an HD logitech which is better in quality and obviously durability.

For what you pay, this is the best true HD webcam on amazon. I've used just about all of the "cheapies"(under $20.00)out there looking for that perfect balance of price to performance. This one hits the target squarely in the middle. It has true auto focus, adjusts well to low lighting situations, and has a great HD picture. The built in mic even works well, with no complaints from anyone when polled on how well I sounded to them. It works across the board with all of the video messaging apps, like Skype, perfectly.Build wise, it's a bit on the larger side, but it has a sturdy base that is wide enough to fit the thickest of monitor frames, as well as being capable of opening flat to just place it on your desktop. It seems well put together as well and looks like it will go the long haul, something I can't say about all the low end cams I've tried out.All told, if you want good quality and a great picture combined with acceptable sound at a bargain price, give this one a try out, you wont regret it!

Very good, shame some of the features aren't compatible with Mac though. Basic features work great though

Works fine with Skype v13.6 and FaceTime. This is all I've used it for. Disk supplied is for microsoft so no good. Despatch from US surprisingly cheap and quick

Decent camera but had it been delivered in its original packaging and quicker than it had I would have been happier!
