Frigidaire 318191023 Stovetop Surface Element Switch for Electric Ranges and Stoves

Bought as a Hail Mary purchase before calling in an expert or buying a new stove, but with some internet searches of how to install and a little effort it fixed my burner temperature control issue. Install was slow for me as I don't do that sort of thing usually and took my time (about an hour), but with any amount of determination I think anyone could do it.

While cooking one night, the stem that holds the burner knob suddenly just fell into the front console. We had to flip the breaker to get the burner to turn off. Did some research to get the product info and ordered it from Amazon. It came within 2 days, followed a YouTube video for getting the console apart and the switch was replaced in no time. Maybe took 15 minutes, including the time to pull the stove out (absolutely need to turn off at the breaker and unplug, safety first!).Game changer from what we would have paid someone to come and do this simple switch replacement.

Worked perfectly, easy to install

Super easy to install. Take off the dial by pulling straight up. There is a little black disk at the base of the metal stick. Use your flat screwdriver to turn to the left. Once it’s loosened, you can unscrew w your fingers. You have to do this with all the dials. You can then lift up the face plate. You will see this part on the back of the face plate. I simply made sure this was facing “top” as it is marked. As I pulled off one wire, I pushed it on to the new switch. You will likely see what appears to be more wires than slats, but those are likely bonded to each other and only need one of the slat/ harness. Very very easy. Remove the old switch, slip the new one in and put everything back. Easy easy!!!I used this on my parent’s Model 79046373404 KENMORE ELITE SLIDE-IN RANGE, ELECTRIC This is for 12a in the parts Manuel. There are two of these switches. One on the far right and one on the far left.

Fixed the double burner that was staying on high direct replacement without issue.

Exact replacement for my Frigidaire FED365EBB stove. Took about 30 minutes to replace because I did some cleaning around the top face while I had it off.UPDATE: My wife and I have both noticed that the settings for the large burner side runs a good bit hotter than the original. It's pretty much low, medium, medium high, and high only. Can almost forget about cooking anything medium low.

We had a 12 year old Frigidaire high end range with a dual intermittent burner. I ordered this, hoping it would fix the problem. Replaced the switch in about an hour, with the help of an excellent YouTube video. The range now works perfectly! :-D

While this switch was half the price of my usual local supplier of parts for appliances, I thought it was a little pricey for the product. Having said that, installation was quick and easy and this switch had more contact points than I needed which leads me to believe that it’s more of a universal device that may have more applications. Works as expected and the wife is happy to have the dual burner working again.

Everything went well. Item controlled the temperature of the dual stove element as it was designed to. Very pleased with the delivery time.

It is amazing to find this on Amazon and it is an original part from Electrolus with parts number matching the existing one. It is easy to replace just do one wire at a time. The only downside to it, Amazon didn't provide much information, such as which burner, this part is to apply to.
