The media could not be loaded. Very good product. Highly recommend buying this one. I looked for a while, and had to return a few that didn’t work mainly because of size. Then found this one and it’s perfect size, to its all aluminum body, to its sweet looks. It literally had fit all the standards I had been looking for.

This product is well made, lite, and the perfect size for a GoPro making it very comfortable to swim with and attach to your BCD when not in use. The coating should prevent the aluminum from salt water corrosion over time.My setup shows it with 3 other items from Amazon:1. Those claims are accurate. This seems like less of an issue with the cage and more of an issue with the item that you are connecting to it, which in this case is the cold shoe ball attachment in my photo. Fortunately, there is a super easy fix...a 12-inch long rubber gear tie. When you tighten the wheel down on the cold shoe it creates a gap between the top of the wheel on the attachment and the flange on the attachment is a perfect fit for the gear tie to sit in. Wrap the tie around the threaded post in that gap like I have shown and twist it tight once, then wrap the tag ends under the cage frame and back over the top. There is now no way the wheel can back up to become loose because it has no room for it to unscrew.The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is what another review called out. The GoPro mount that is provided with the cage can easily come loose and whatever camera you have can fall away into the deep. The issue is the slick metal GoPro connector gets tightened against the slick metal frame and with not too much of a nudge on the camera, smooth metal against smooth metal just loosens quickly. The mfg tried to install a small horeshoe type rubber pad to prevent this but it is simply way too thin to create a firm lock. The solution that should have come with the cage is rubber washer/grommet to sit between the frame and the camera mount. The one in the picture is the best I could find in the home hardware supply but it is too thick and does not have a large enough diameter as shown in my photo. Off to the hardware store for this item. The mfg could have easily addressed this and saved me the trip.

This is the perfect size for using a Gopro12 underwater. Easy to mount 2 focus lights and very lightweight. Will take it for diving next weekend in Indonesia.

This aluminum U-handle rig is excellent underwater GoPro use.Fit and finish: My Hero5 in its housing fit fine in the center section and the two cold shoes were fit my lights with no issue. The various threaded mounting points worked fine with a tripod and other 1/4" threaded attachments. The supplied lanyard is ok but is nothing remarkable. The anodizing is smooth and evenly thick; the metal was well finished at the pricepoint before anodizing.Performance: the bracket is, of course, somewhat negatively buoyant but it tends to counteract the slight buoyancy of a housed GoPro. It's neither floaty nor heavy and should not affect the diver's weighting or trim. It works and has room for normal sized gloved hands but might be a slight challenge with big hands in thick gloves.Value: It's reasonably priced for what you get. There are many variations of this rig on the market and it makes a for a nice starter or B-roll action camera rig .

This handgrip is very sturdy and virtually indestructible, but it is quite heavy as well. Too much for a piece of gear made for use with minuscule action cameras.It has several screw mount perforations and a couple of cold shoe mounts that make it very customizable and allows us to attach many types of accessories to it.That said, it is a nice accessory that I would recommend as a tool to improve the experience when shooting with an action camera such as the GoPro.

I'm not a fan of selfie sticks and gimbals are annoying to carry sometimes, so, despite being a "dive rig," this hand grip looked good enough for me to use on land.My action cameras fit with no problem, and even my smartphone fits (in portrait orientation only). Plenty of 1/4" and 3/8" attachment points and two cold shoe mounts. The rig is lightweight and feels secure in-hand. At first, I thought the handles should have been cylindrical for comfort and better grip, but it turns out that that their shape actually is comfortable to hold, and -- as an added benefit -- the rig won't spin in your hand during one-handed use like a cylindrical grip might. Just for kicks, I also tried my smallest video-capable picture camera, but it didn't fit (that won't lower my rating, since the rig is not marketed for that purpose).If you're looking for a simple rig for your action camera, the Neewer AC001 is a good choice for water or land. You may even be able to swing some portrait smartphone footage if your phone and case are narrower than 3.5" (but you'll have to bring your own mount).

This is one solid piece of metal. Holds my GoPro securely (still might put a safety cable on it) and looks like it will hold up to the bumps and bruises you know it will incur when diving, on and off the boat, etc. I was looking for something to take the GoPro with me when I dive and this exceeded my expectations. This is an excellent hand grip for the GoPro when on land. You can mount lights and microphones for those times when a GoPro is enough (or necessary) to get the shot you are looking for. A great accessory for your action camera.
