3M Framed Privacy Filter for 20" Widescreen Monitor (16:10) (PF200W1F)

I recently bought a new 27" ViewSonic monitor for work. I looked up the exact screen dimensions and this 3m filter was an absolutely perfect fit. 3M has another filter for a 27" monitor that has a slightly different size screen, which is what I ran into last time I bought my 24" monitor (when that filter came, I actually had to cut it slightly to fit, and you know that never works out completely right..) With this filter, I put the 'shiny side' toward me, which they say can be bad with glare (I barely notice it) but really enables YOU to see the screen incredibly clearly but unless you are directly in front of the monitor, NO ONE ELSE can see anything - even starting at approx a 25degree angle, it is darkened enough that you can't read anything on the screen. Past the 25degree angle, all anyone sees is a completely black screen. If I reversed it, with the shiny side toward the lcd and the duller side toward me, I would (supposedly) have less glare but the screen itself would appear a little darker. It's just a personal preference for each to decide for him/herself. I manage a law firm, and so almost anything I have open on my screen is confidential - including payroll information, or client escrow accounts, or whatever - but someone can be standing right next to my desk and not be able to see a thing. If you really need privacy, I can't recommend it highly enough. I would only advise that you carefully measure (or check the specs) any monitor so you can get the right fit - 3M gives you the exact measurements of each filter. Oh, and make sure you don't have it for your employees OR kids.. they need to be accountable! Too tempting to play solitaire, surf the web, or doing something they shouldn't if they know no one can see what they are doing! ;o)

I think 3M makes the best of these but they are very pricey. Would recommend if money is not an issue for you. The level of privacy at angle is unmatched especially when using the glossy side.

I was very apprehensive of buying a unknown product. But these privacy filters were going for 85.00 plus and I just could not see spending that price. 3M is a wonderful product and I had to give my trust to Amazon that they would not send a product that was not good. Surprising the Privacy filter had no flaws that I was able to see, and all I had to do was just put it up to the screen and it stuck. I had the adhesive strips and directions but chose to use a small piece of tape at the upper corners and I was happy.. It is very private now and for the price this is great. .

This is a nice monitor filter. I went with this model for its rigid frame that it is incorporated into. Another feature that sold me on this model is the hooks that connect allowing you to "mount" the filter by just resting it on top of your monitor frame. I prefer this method of attachment as most of our employees prefer to have the option to remove the filter so they can share information on the monitor with someone at their desk from time to time. The price is high, but the quality is there I suppose to justify it. Especially when compared to filters that are without hangers or frame that are priced as nearly high as this unit. Go with the frame, go with the hangers, you will love it!

The privacy aspect of the screen works pretty well. Anyone more than 30-45 degrees off center from my monitor can't see what I'm doing. However, all of my widescreen monitor is visible to me. The filter darkens the monitor a bit, but my monitor is bright enough that it's not a problem. The first of my two complaints is price. It's difficult to understand why a piece of plastic is so expensive. The second, minor complaint is that it doesn't quite fit my monitor. There's a 1/4 to 1/2 inch gap at the top. That's true even though I went through 3M's sizing Web site. If you really need privacy, it does what it advertises.

What makes this screen filter great is that it comes with two adjustable "tabs" with rubber feet that allow the frame to simply hang on the monitor. When I need to show someone my screen I can just temporarily lift it off, then put it back. The frame lets you handle it without putting fingerprints on the filter. This is great if you work in an office that would frown upon you gluing something to their property, or if you get moved to different workstations. It also includes some bits of 3M's Command adhesive if you really want to stick it on there.I wish the viewing angle was just a tad more narrow, and it has the slightest tint (overcome by just cranking the brightness a notch or two). But otherwise this filter is worth the investment.

This privacy filter is great for a peeping eye in the office, or when people hang around your desk and you're still trying to get work done. I bought it due to a coworker having a great experience with it. It does successfully block eyesight from each side, so someone would actually have to try to look and see what you're doing. I have to add though, I don't love it because I have a curved monitor, and the filter does not fully stick on my monitor. It pops up sometimes, which creates a double-vision effect that can really bug out my eyes. It's annoying that I have to keep pushing it back, but that doesn't even really do anything. For almost $200, I would expect it to fit better on my monitor. It does absolutely get the job done, and I'm sure if you don't have a curved monitor it would work great for you.

This product works as described. Hardest part was finding out which 3M product fit my Samsung S27D360H monitor. 3M website wasn't helpful. Called the 1-800 product support line, once able to actually reach a representative instead of hold music (15 minutes!) they were able to tell me the correct product to purchase. Biggest downside is the extra expensive of being a name brand.

Provides excellent privacy. Fits brilliantly over my screen with the hooks that come with the screen.The product description states "Reduces glare by 95%". However I would have to disagree - this screen is not good for its anti-glare, in fact for me it makes its worse. I brought this as I sit with my back facing a window and wanted a product to reduce the glare I get when I have the blinds open on my screen, to allow day light into my office. However the screen reflection is brighter and sharper with this filter, it is that bright I can see out the window when looking at the screen, rather than the documents I am working on. I am forever seeing that one magpie out the window behind me without having to turn around! I find I have to move and tilt my head to block the mirror effect with my shadow so I can read what is on the screen.Don't let this review put you off if you only want it for privacy and you do not sit directly opposite a window. This product great for viewing documents, makes what your reading sharper, and adds quality, just doesn't provide the 95% anti glare, or anything near that.

Product is just as described, perfect fit to 19" monitior! Very well packed! Dispatched within an hour and arrived much quicker than expected. Excellent customer service!!!

Bit too small but does the job

Whilst we have ordered the correct size filter for our screen, it does not stay on the monitor screen and keeps popping out. Very disappointing, given cost. Also creates a glare, which defeats the point of it entirely.
