Health Metric Water Hardness Test Strips

Strips go green if water is soft so useful to tell if a water softener is working or not. I had a problem matching the colour to a hardness level for hard water though. I don't think it is very useful if you want to know the level of hardness for say setting a dishwasher salt hardness level. My guess when matching colour was hardness was 50 ppm, while I know from internet searches and subsequently a different testing kit it is around 400 ppm.Would recommend if you want to know if your water softener is working or not, otherwise not.

Arrived on time and are easy to use. However, the test shows that the water is hard before the water softener and soft after it, but there is no way to tell how soft. Hence it shows the softener is working but that is it.

Far easier to use that liquid indicator, the result appears quickly. The precise colour obtained needs good natural lighting, as LED lamps often give misleading cold (too blue) illumination.I was testing a water softener. By using one strip for untreated hard water and a second one for soft, the result was very reassuring.

I was checking the efficiency of my water softener unit as we were having trouble with limescale in our electric kettle and also to check the water quality for my aquarium. I found your test strips to be accurate and consistent with the problems we have with water hardness in our area. Your tests have come out consistently at 120ppm.My only solution is to give the water softener extra regeneration and to change the aquarium water at more regular intervals but not full water changes. My new test check today, a week later is, 25ppm so the regen is working and I found your product to be excellent in helping me do this and I would highly your product.

Used to check newly installed water softener was working, did find trying to match colour comparator not so easy.

These test strips will just about tell you whether your water is hard or soft, but that's about all. The different colours on the scale are very similar to each other so it's difficult to get any handle on the precise level of hardness. Don't bother.
