Let's just say it won't be for everyone, it's very "Natural" tasting. It tastes exactly like you would expect a twig to taste. However, it's not the companies fault it tastes like this and I wouldn't want them to add flavourings etc to change this as it would defeat the purpose. ❔ It's a bit difficult to get behind the back teeth when the stick gets shorter Considering everything, it's a pretty good product, came exactly as described so you can't really complain. The only complaint is the ones I received were very thin.

I'm new to miswak but recently had tried out a couple of trimmed UK foraged twigs - cherry and lime - and found them surprisingly effective and pleasant for cleaning teeth. This is my first purchase of miswak from a Salvadora persica tree. I understand they are root rather than twig. This is a really nicely designed pack with its two holders, four sticks in all, cutter & instructions, very reassuring for newcomer. As you can see from photo, kit is small and compact - I hadn't realised likely size - so will be very handy for travel or just keeping one in handbag. Sticks, on opening (each is sealed in individual package with packaging date: mine are April 2020) are moist with unfamiliar horse radish flavour, not unpleasant though unfamiliar. For someone with irregular teeth who has always had difficulty getting into the awkward corners, this approach is revolutionary (wish I had found them years ago). You can feel around each tooth and get into the crannies much more easily than with traditional plastic toothbrush. And how nice not to be adding to the global plastic toothbrush mountain. Price seems reasonable compared to others on Amazon for whole kit which you would only need to buy once. Refills cheaper, so happy enough with the £9.99 to get me started. Scientific reports online (and WHO) seem to suggest miswak may be effective as modern toothbrush/paste approach, if not more so, but be careful of gum recession/abrasion from over-enthusiastic over-frequent use.

Not used these before, was worried about some of the reviews mentioning the "horse raddish" taste as I do not like bitter foods. However, it isn't strong at all. And as you use the organic toothbrush it stimulates saliva and furthur dilutes the actually pleasant taste, as it is free from plastic and minty toothpastes. Yet with all the benefits of good compounds for the teeth. I don't know how the toothcleaning will go in the long term as I am getting used to the new method, but the explainations are good. It isn't necessary to recut after each use, you get a couple of uses at least from each end. the taste lasts for ages, so I use that as a guide and let it dry out in the open air (important). I noted some best before dates are very close, so will update the review in future if I open them and they are no good. Get a nice pack, with little bag and 2 holders. Nicely presented.
