Earth Auger
I purchased the 2" size as it was perfect for the 2x2 holes I needed to drill for my Bouganvillea cage. I was pleasantly surprised by how well this unit was built. It has strong welds that give it ruggedness. I drilled among roots and stones without worrying that I might break or damage it.

Worked great even in rocky ground
We needed to drill through rocky soil that wasn't accessible for hand digging in order to run a water pipe. This auger worked perfectly. Thank you so much for a great product!

This auger is a serious tool
1-1/2" Auger. I received it today. Attached it to my 1/2" drill. Choose a spot in the backyard to test it. Forgot to go slow with the variable speed drill. Caught a root. Drill spun out of my grip. Fortunately I wasn't gripping the drill tightly so I didn't get hurt. The drill spun around wrapping the cord around itself as it fell to the ground.I knew better just wasn't thinking. So, go slow especially if using near plants or in rocky soil. It is strongly built. I don't believe this auger is going to break like some of the others reviewed.

Awesome Auger
I use this at work and holds up great even in tough and hard packed clay.

heavy duty
Heavy duty; does the job intended to do. I wish it had the grove cut around the drill end to accept the slip on locking extensions. I am very pleased.
