I like the pencil tip and heaviness of the unit..Cords are long enough. I think a good value.

It’s small for convenience and the price is right for the size and the efficiency!

I recently tested the WEP 939-IV Wood Burning Kit and can report that it is a powerful burning tool with lots of art and craft potential. The design of the burner is good, and the parts seem robust. The heat regulator works well and allows you to control the nib's temperature. The burning handle comes with a few nibs and easy-to-use nib extraction pliers; it can also effectively insolate heat. I tested it on rough pine and mahogany veneer and liked the results.I only have two reservations:1. I would have preferred to receive at least one nib with a ball tip.2. The box that houses the burner kit is too small for the parts once unwrapped, and you will have to find a replacement box for storing all the pieces.

It was easy to use and I appreciate the ease of replacing the tips. However, after using it for about 7 projects, it stopped heating up properly. The cord started to hum and it flickered heating off and on. I have reached out to the company to see how they will handle the issue. I don't feel safe using it any longer.

It is good for the price, for beginners.

The highlight of this kit is definitely the quick changing tips. These types of wire tips are naturally quick to heat and cool, but many other models around this price range use screws to hold them in place and it can get terribly annoying to have to unscrew your tips to change them. Having quick change tips is such a nice convenience. This kit also lets you change the temperature which is nice when trying to just shade. The biggest downsides of this is probably that you get a much more limited selection of tips. There's only five, and they are pretty much the most standard ones so all your basics are covered, but many of the screw off variations may have as many as 20 and it's easy to get more since they all are essentially the same size/dimensions. These are much more particular about their fit, since you're not just sticking two wires into the respective holes. Lastly, the holder for the pen when you aren't using it isn't very secure. It's definitely something you can work with, but it's just not as secure, nor can you position and tape it down where you like. All in all, I would say the convenience of the quick change tips trumps the minor inconveniences this kit has.

The media could not be loaded. This is a fun little wood burning kit! I’ve never used one before but it’s pretty much ready right out of the box. I was a little nervous to plug it in because the control is loose and wiggly and I wasn’t sure how that would affect it, but I plugged it in and it works fine. There’s definitely a learning curve and I wanted to go faster than I should! When I slowed down the lines were straighter! It comes with several types of nibs and a nice booklet on how to use it! The price is a little high so I would definitely wait for it to go on sale.
