Very well made item and looks sturdy. Light and easy to use.

I have had two different types of these two headed hoes. Both have shown weakness where the blade and three prong fork have been welded to the socket, snapping free from the socket.This hoe is made from a whole forged piece of metal, much stronger and I hope for many years of use from the tool when gardening.There is some who find the handle slippery, this is due to the layer of protective varnish on the wood. You can do as suggested and put tape on the handle, but I always prefer an unvarnished wooden handle. It has a better hand feel and not slippery. Remove the varnish if you wish with first course sandpaper followed by a finer grade to get a finer finish. Then treat the wood from now on with Linseed oil.Gradually the wood will get a wonderful patina of use and have a much better feel for working with.

This Hand Cultivator/Hoe is well crafted. Sturdy wood handle is good length (not too short) and a good diameter for my medium sized, *not petite*, woman’s hands. In other words it wasn’t made for jolly green giant hands like a lot of tools are, thank you! yay!! It’s a little more $ than some other “name” brands but a wood handle is important to me—metal handles have that reverberating-up-the-arm impact shock thing so I avoid metal handles. The hoe is sharp! And sturdy; a good width & length. The tines are sharp, wide & squared, not tubular—and work way better in my “soil of many rocks.” The angle that the head is attached to handle (not 90°) is ergonomically awesome! Someone who has actually used one of these must have designed it. The steel wedge that secures the head to handle protrudes a little more than I thought it would, but it means no problem if need to tighten in future. The “finishing” on some edges, etc is very good, though not puurrrrfectly smooth like on some machined tools, but IMO this wasn’t supposed to be a work of art to be admired for its perfection of the tiniest details—they got the crafting right—it is very well made for digging in the dirt. Thank you to craftspeople who made this-it’s a tool I’ve used for a few months and I imagine it will last for many more gardening seasons.

I have flower gardens and vegetable gardens. The ground is often hard so I use this tool to break up some of the dirt. It is lightweight yet functions well. I am trying to take care of my wrists and hands after so many years of typing, tennis, karate, etc, so any tool that helps me work in the dirt for my botanical passions, is welcome indeed. I am very satisfied with this product.

for weeding and which is a constant battle. Have broken many a weeding tool and this one shouls last along time.

WOW!!! What a great hoe cultivator... Can only say now I have 2 BECAUSE my wife wanted one also...
