Q: Is a regular beeping sound when not in use normal? I returned my first timer for this reason, but my replacement timer is doing the same thing

No You would have to stop and reset. If only 4-3 minutes to add or change something just add minutes to timer

Q: Can I reduce the time halfway through? Will it affect the alarm?

Yes, just turn the dial counterclockwise to whatever time you want and it will continue to time. The alarm at the end will be the same.

Q: How do I start the timer?

I believe that it start’s automatically once set
