Java: An Introduction to Problem Solving and Programming

It came almost in pristine condition. Not perfect, but I didn’t care for that. I needed this text book ASAP & it was delivered the date it was expected!

This is a great introduction to the Java programming language. The book outlines basic and rudimentary objectives in computing.

Great book

Very well written book, easy to follow. However, it does use something called an "@Override" in the examples, throughout the book without an explanation how to fix it, when it doesn't work. Eclipse seems to be finicky about using this, and my professor refuses to show me how to fix it, until later in the course.

Great java book if you're curious

I'm really not a fan of this book. It doesn't always explain things in a way that a beginner can understand and the examples aren't always very good. I'm currently taking a java programming class in college that requires this book and our professor relies a lot on the book to teach us instead of explaining things clearly herself and often times I've had to take to the internet to find a solution to a program or problem.This book will provide you with plenty of exercises you can try yourself but often times the answer to how to do them isn't made clear in the book. I've found websites and even phone apps that do a far better job of teaching Java. This book would probably be a bit more useful to some one with at least a little bit of a background in Java but I don't think it should be used as an "Introduction"

This textbook could be way better. The only good thing is the practice in the book can help you understand the theory and practice problems. The biggest issue is the errors in the code examples . Typos are frequent in the book. It can be a hot mess at times. If you have a good understanding of Java already skip this book.

I am currently renting this book for my computer class and never opened it except day 1. The stuffs in this book are very confusing and I’d rather watching online videos on Youtube.
