Once in a While

My motivation for buying this CD was to get "Once in a While" which is a very pretty song that is beautifully done by The Chimes. No other artist should even attempt to record this song because there is no way they can even match let alone improve on the recording done by The Chimes. While 2-3 other songs on this CD are marginally good, "Once in a While" is the only song The Chimes did (at least to my knowledge) that is a winner. That is sad because they are an excellent group that deserved so much more recognition. Their shortcoming was a lack of material that would have allowed their talent to shine through. The CD itself is of excellent quality.

I purchased this cd and several others for a friend who loves do wop. Although this Chimes cd isn't strictly do wop, it's the one he loves the best. He says he plays it over and over and really enjoys all the songs (which he knows). He was extremely pleased with it.

These guys unmistakably provided some of the best harmony around during the 50's and the 60's. You will surely love this cd.
