Whether or not it's a good value is up to you. I don't think there are exactly a lot of colander failures happening out there even if you buy a cheap one and it's not like the OXO will drain your noodles faster. But OXO is one of those brands where I just happily pay the extra $5 or $10. Everything they make is durable, nice to use, and thoughtfully designed. This is a colander, so there's not exactly a lot to say here. One thing that slightly sets it apart from the competition is the rubber handles and feet. The feet help the colander to stay in place if you're pouring something heavy into it and are leaning onto the colander a bit. (I do worry if the rubber might degrade over time, especially if put through a dishwasher. But, I guess it would just be a regular colander at that point, not a total loss) Other than that... it uh, works. It drains things! Feels thick and sturdy! It apparently is sized to nest with other OXO colanders and mixing bowls which could be a huge bonus for some.

Nice size and heavy duty. I have used it many times now and washed it in the dishwasher. It has held up just fine. I am very happy!

I love the grip handles. Keeps from dropping/spilling. and do not have to worry about burning my hands. Drain holes are large enough to drain well and small enough that I do not loose food through the holes. Good quality, cleans easily by hand or dishwasher, and remains looking like new. Excellent quality for the cost.

Best colander I've ever owned. Not too big, not too small. 5 quart. Material is robust, yet light. Handles and bottom support are small allowing minimum room in dishwasher

Lightweight and easy to use. Very durable and dishwasher safe. perfect mesh size for quick drainage for any cooked pasta or rinsing berries or vegetables. Excellent value and hands down now our favorite colander.

heavy duty. the holes are a little Sharp but that is manageable. it's a little big for my sink, and is so heavy duty, I tried to hammer it out of round with a mallet to make it fit. it won't bend ...

This is a high quality, sturdy strainer. Well worth the price, appears long lasting.

The stickers put on by the manufacturer are almost impossible to remove. So annoying but the item is quality

Built like a tank! Perfect size holes and the metal is thick and strong and should last years and years. No regrets. We mainly use for draining spaghetti.
