"record rich and detailed 4k ultra hd or full hd videos up to 29 minutes 59 seconds" my d7500 cuts 4k videos into ~5 min long clips. yours too? why?
Please tell me feedback on touch autofocus of D7500
I'm mostly into scenery/nature/landscape/astro photography. What would be the main advantages of upgrading from a D3300 to this model?
I have watched videos of what seems a lot of video focus issues. In actual use, have you found this to be true, if so, any work arounds/Nikon fixes?

Excellent camera!

This camera, although it would be considered “dated” by younger generations of photographers, is still very much a powerhouse and a must have for anyone wanting to take photos in a variety of situations! This is a step up from the previous DSLR I owned so there is a small learning curve for me as far as the features. I also consider it a step up from the z50 mirrorless I own. While mirrorless is lighter weight, there are situations where it just isn’t capable of doing what I need. The real test for this D7500 will be marching season during halftime shows, but as of so far, I’m impressed! The 18-140 lens is truly an excellent lens! It is able to zoom in and out as I need in all situations I’ve used it so far. Very fast auto focus and I love that I can easily switch to manual on the lens itself without fiddling with settings on the camera. This significantly lowers the risk of me missing a photo opportunity because I’m looking for a setting in the camera menu.Sturdy body. This does add weight to the camera but honestly I feel like that isn’t a bad thing. I started my photography journey with an SLR with no auto focus and black & white film in HS. I learned to develop the film and photos myself. The features and options on this camera are truly amazing and I still have a lot to learn about it, but so far I’m impressed! I’ve always been a Nikon girl and they continue to provide excellent photography cameras and lenses!*photo taken at my local Memorial Day ceremony. This pup was super fast and I took several photos in quick succession to get the one shown on the review here. The D7500 didn’t hesitate, focused quickly and I was able to take this picture. The owners were thrilled when I posted it on the local page as they had yet to get a good pic of their new pup :)

Great Price

For the price, it's a great camera. Takes some getting used to, but, I'm learning more and more every day. Love the sharp and clear photos it produces. Indeed the photos are so good, I'm, wondering if I have to "post-process," them.

Durability

Great asp camera with most functions of a d500. Don't let the one battery purist steering you away from this camera. Weather sealed as long as your lenses of choice are also.bought this a month after coming out and this is my second purchase. You will not spend as much as an mirrorless.Great all around camera withalmost unlimited lense choice. My month old dopped 7ft off a 1011 Abrams tank hauler I was inspecting and landed on its back. Thought I would have to finish with phone, but I got a no screen protector scratch on the back screen and a button pushed to the side that took me a while to figure out. Was doing high end auro wrecks and with the rubber bottom I have in direct sunlight set it down on roofs ,hoods, but thislexus with covers all over the engine, I set it down as usual and seconds passed as I went to the other side of the car. It slid of the coated plastic and hit the copart pavement bouncing off the the lense and body. I picked it up and the back screen was cracked bad and the lenses my favorite 12-24 1.4 was stiff in the middle but finishe the job and many after. Love this camera! Why i bought a new one from adorable. Now I can send thise one to nikon. And yes feel it worth it. Over 6 years I average 310 photos a job. I will let them fix my lense and screen.

Sophisticated camera, worth the price.

Very nice camera, my old lens fit, new features to explore and learn about. Slightly heavier than 3400 Nikon.

Fantastic resolution. Great camera.

Racehorse of a camera. Resolution is incredible. Just getting to know it. Used a Nikon D3200 for years. My new D7500 is great. I’m just learning this camera and this is the resolution I get! Quite impressed.

Meets my needs

Before I start, these are simply my own impressions. I was once a professional photographer way back in the days of film and photographed over 600 weddings, as well as sports teams and schools. Nowadays I am just an amateur who sells prints once in awhile. I am also a recently retired economics teacher and in my quest to upgrade from my excellent, but outdated D7000, I applied the principles of wants vs needs, trade-offs, opportunity costs, and cost benefits.Realizing the no camera will give one exactly what they want, I narrowed the requirements down. My two main criteria were higher ISO performance and more accurate focus. I do a lot of bird in flight, and both are essential. It came down to the D7200, the D7500, and the D500. The D7200 already being two years out, I ruled it out. The D500 fit my needs, and a few wants, but the price tag was a bit steep. The D7500 seemed the best fit, and after trying it for a couple of days I believe I made the right choice.ISO- While the D7000 had an upper limit of ISO 1600 before degrading, I now feel quite comfortable at 3200 which helps with the 180 f/2.8 for birds. I will test at higher when I do some Milky Way shots next week.Focus- Spot on, fast and accurate. I can track a bird quite easily.Exposure- Amazing. The color rendition and exposure are so good I don’t have to do any tweaking. Even shooting a bird against a bright blue sky the metering handle it.Eight frames per second is fast. The shutter is quite sensitive and I will easily shoot a sequence when only one is needed, but they delete. The shutter is much quite quieter than the D7000 and makes a sweet sound like my old Contax. The negatives that people are sounding off on don’t bother me. One card slot is okay, I never utilized the second slot before, and I am not doing anything that a card failure would cause a catastrophic loss. No battery grip is okay too. I have one for the older camera, but never used it. I am so old that reaching over with my finger feels natural. Not being able to meter with old lenses is okay too, I don’t have any.The bottom line is that this camera meets my needs, and then some, giving me a good return on investment.Update 7/17- After spending a couple of weeks with the camera I am even more pleased. I found the group autofocus and af-c to work the best for tracking birds. I have gone up to ISO 6400 with satisfactory results, in fact I have yet to use the flash.Update 7/21- I have been using the camera at the beach for surfer photos and it performs impeccably. Battery life is a bit short, but that may be affected by the use of a screw drive lens. The sunrise photo was shot with the 10.5 fisheye.
