ROLI Loop Block

I like it, it helps with productivity!

Serious issues getting it to work. Could be a great product but just not ready for actual use...more like a beta product. Company is unethical and is screwing over all of their high level backers on Kickstarter.

It was an okay device but didn't get enough time to try it out much because it just stopped working one day.

This is a very promising idea -- but it's not ready yet. The current release level is 0.4.0 (generally, we like software that is *at least* Version 1.0 or more). The software update process couldn't get this up to current -- the closest it could get was 0.2.5 or thereabouts before repeatedly failing with CRC errors. The upshot (for me) was that I couldn't use the device with Ableton Live the way I wanted to. Returned it. I'll keep an eye on the product and maybe give it a go in a year or so. I'm writing the exact same review for two devices -- the Roli Loop Block and the Roli Lightpad block that I bought at the same time. They don't play nicely together yet. Dang.

I can't really give an accurate review on the functionality of this item because I could never get it do anything but turn on.I tried downloading the free software that comes with these products but had trouble with the driver not loading. I run Windows 10 and after doing some research I found that this is a problem Roli has been having. I even contacted Roli and got a response but not resolution to the problemI am returning simply because I cannot use it without buying a new computer. Too bad, its seems that some people are very happy with these items. Just not useful for me.

Hard to use compared to my two other Roli items.

(Very smartly advertised, must say)1. Device can be charged only if connected to a Lightpad M Block. Ok...So I placed an order for the same (on another shopping website)..2. After receiving the Lightpad M Block, connected the Loop Block to the same. Charged it for 2 hours approx (as mentioned in the instructions)3. You can access the hardware through the NOISE App ONLY on iOs devices. So I did on my iPhone SE. Connecting both the devices was quite a painful task. It said "Too many devices connected!! "... And if both devices did get connected, the lights on either one would stay off, especially the Loop Block. So after many frustrating trials, finally decided to return the Loop Block to Amazon.4. So my first call to the customer care to return the device was on Monday, August 27 2018. I was told to keep the device ready in its original packaging (which I have) and was assured that it would be picked up between 7am to 1pm on Wednesday, August 29 2018, which did not happen. Neither did Amazon have the courtesy to call and inform regarding the same.5. Now my second call to the customer care was on the night of Wednesday, August 29 2018 (for which, I decided to record the entire conversation). This time again, the customer care executive assured me that the pickup would 100% happen on Thursday, August 30 2018 between 7am to 1pm, which has not happened as yet.No call from the pickup teamNo call from customer careSo, this is AMAZON!Absolutely no value for the customer.Keep it up AMAZON. Way to go.But I won't take it lying down.

Couldn't properly connect it to my Windows 10 laptop and desktop. Heard good things about it but sadly driver issues bogged it down.
