I looked at lot of fans before settling on this one and was prepared to pay extra for a quiet fan. At the time of purchase, there were only two reviews, which both gave it 5 stars. However, I was really disappointed from the moment I switched the fan on. The first thing I heard was a continuous whining sound which remained constant while the fan was running. Having the fan on the lowest setting provides next to no air, so is a waste of time. The highest fan setting is rather noisy, so I settled on the middle one.On the positive side, the touch panel is very sensitive and the unit is easy to assemble (just ensure you pass the plug lead through the base, before clicking it together). The fan unit itself is very sturdy, but this makes the base seem flimsy in comparison. Also, the lead was a tad shorter than I would have liked, meaning that it couldn’t be sited too far away from a power socket. I haven’t linked this up to the app yet, so am unsure about the 8 fan speeds. There only appear to be 3 speed options on the touch screen and the middle one is powerful enough to keep my living room cool…just have to have the subtitles up on the tv!In all honesty, if it hadn’t been for the recent hot spell, I would have returned this fan. I feel misled about the noise level and there are similar tower fans available at a much cheaper price.

I'd give this fan 4.8 stars. Overall the fan is great, it has good airflow, nice clear easy to use touch buttons, and a sleek modern design.The features I like most are that you can choose between 8 fan speed levels within the app instead of the typical 3 you get with a non smart fan.Also the custom schedule feature that allows you to set speed levels based on a certain time limit. This is useful when going to sleep so you can go from a high setting as you're going to bed and have it gradually lower to a low setting as you wake up.Another good feature is the fact that the smart features are integrated into the same Govee app that their other products use. So if you use other Govee products e.g. led strip lights then you can control both these within the same app, which makes it more convenient and one of the main reasons I bought it.The highest speed setting is pretty good for a tower fan. I don't usually need to use the highest. The noise is quiet on the lowest setting. Whilst there is an obvious noise at higher settings it's not enough to bother me.My only very minor cons are that in the images it kind of looked like the entire fan was gloss black where as only the control panel is. The rest is matt which is slightly disappointing.Also given this fan is smart I would've expected to be able to control the oscillation from the app to go in the opposite direction instead of having to wait for it to reach the end and then turn itself it the other direction. You can only turn it on or off, no direct control of direction. (I'm assuming the actual oscillation feature is purely mechanic rather than electrically/computer controlled, maybe that's why)Other than that a great fan and would recommend!

By no means the quietest fan, but definitely does its job well. Great to control from app to if you are in bed.

A top class fan very quite in sleep mode my only moan is I baought the Govee Hyrometer/thermometer thinking the 2 would interact with each other and at a set temp the fan could turn on. My disappointment is they do not. So very close Govee but no cigar

The fan is great for functionality and integration with smart devices. Coupled with a thermometer this allows you to turn on / off the fan based on a temperature. You can control this via Alexa, phone app of the fan itself. It is, however, let down by the power of the fan. Anything bigger than a medium sized room and this won't be much help.

Incredibly loud for a fan, especially when there’s a premium factored in for its smart compatibility. You’d do better to purchase an ordinary fan and use a smart plug for what it’s actually worth.

Given the current weather was looking at getting a new fan to replace the old school one I've had for years and so far loving this one.Having used Govee devices before i was happy to see them offering a smart fan.Linking to Alexa was as easy as pie and in my case also linked to a Govee thermometer which makes it even better. The process was simple and it now sits on my room and when the temperature get to a preset level the fan comes on getting faster if the temperature increases.Relatively quiet in sleep mode not silent but no fan ever really is and i could personally sleep with it on quite easily.
