Modway Empress Mid-Century Modern Upholstered Fabric Ottoman In Wheatgrass

This couch looks fantastic and is very comfortable but you get what you pay for with the build quality. The seat cushions do not have buttons on both sides, so you cannot flip them. Several of the buttons started ripping (as seen in photo) after 1 year of use. However I was able to buy some blue, nylon thread and sow them up with little difficulty. If you use a blind stitch it looks good as new.The couch comes packaged in a ton of material which is difficult to remove. I made the mistake of standing the couch up on its end to remove the material, which bent the arm a little bit. Don't make the same mistake!

I was really nervous about buying couches off Amazon, but I'm really happy with these. They're firm (which i love and they'll last longer) and look so great. All cushions are removable, and the back ones are tufted all the way through so you can rotate as needed. The full sized couch is great for overnight guests, if you take the back cushions off there's plenty of room for two to sleep.For the fabric, which is the scariest part about buying online: it seems to be made of polyester fiber, but it's woven (ACTUALLY woven, not just printed to look that way). It looks and feels like a linen couch with a wide weave, but slightly less breathable because it's not cotton. I think it's also pretty easy to clean. I got highlighter on it the day they arrived, died a little on the inside, and then was able to wipe it off really easily with all purpose cleaner and a paper towel. I have the full size couch in Laguna (the product picture is true to color) and a loveseat size in Wheatgrass (which is more ofof a gold-ish 70's green in real life).I would have given them 5 stars if it wasn't for the independent delivery vendor. With one delivery they called a week ahead and gave me a couple of options for delivery date and time, which was great. HOWEVER when the driver showed up, i had to beg him to bring the couch inside and not just leave it in my alley (even though he showed me that Amazon had paid for inside delivery). He threw a fit and then told me he'd only bring it in if i carried the other end. I told him i had just broken my hand (pointing to my very large cast) so i couldn't help, and he responded with a very angry rant about how he just had kidney surgery and everyone seems to have an excuse to not help. He did end up bringing it up after shredding the wrapping in my alley, making me carry up the cushions alone one at a time, and then leaving all the shredded trash flying around my backyard. Slightly more context: i had told the receptionist who called about the delivery that i lived 10 steps above street level, had a broken hand, and wouldn't be able to assist. The second delivery had the opposite problem despite being the same shipper. They left me a voicemail saying they'd be delivering the couch in less than 24 hours, so i had to take the day off work last minute. But the second set of delivery guys were kind and helpful.All in all, i love these couches. I would have given them 5 stars if not for the terrible delivery folks.

EDIT / after a few months of very moderate use the buttons and seams are already coming apart i do not see this lasting more than a year. its a shame because i really do love this couch. but who whats to pay almost 800 a year buying new sofa's?_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________Original review was 5 starsI've had this couch for almost a year and its been sitting in storage until now.I have now idea how well it will hold up, I'm hoping i can get a few years out of it.The color is exactly what i was hoping for and i think it looks better in person. The stock photo makes it look a little more sunny yellow than it is. its actually a very rich yellow!

Very good quality. Better than I expected.

It's pretty ballsy buying a sofa online. I mean, I never sat on it or actually touched the fabric and yet I took the risk.The fabric is great though it seems like it could snag easily. I have a cat and he is a bit of a jerk so I try to keep him off the couch.It is firm. FIRM! And I love a firm chesterfield! But this is like, *solid* firm. I've had it for almost a month and am a rather lazy person so I use it a whole lot. I do about 3- 4 hours of homework on it every day plus another 3-4 hours of online shopping and goofing around. I can *almost* feel where it's beginning to soften up. I will update this before Christmas because who cares if I love it as soon as I get it! It has to be great quality in the months and years to come.Over all I am pleased!UPDATE: So I've had it for about 3 months and there is some definite softening action happening. I've had to switch my "spot" to the other side so it wears evenly. It's still firm, I can just feel the butt impressions. This would probably wear better if I had a partner or someone to put their butt on the other side. Golly, that sounds really sad. My cat sits on it now, he hasn't snagged it.Still, I'm happy with my sofa. If they ever put a chair on a lightening deal I'll get it... for my laundry to sit on.

Love the way the sofa looks. I really like the colour. The material appears to be durable. The sofa is very modern and classic at the same time. The size is very practical and can seat a lot of people. I do question the quality as the sofa tends to shift a lot and make squeaky sounds. I find that annoying. It is like there is not enough weight to hold it down. The seat is way too firm for my liking and not very comfortable. It would be nice if the sofa can be softer. My buttom hurts after sitting on it for a long time.The delivery was very timely and went smoothly.

This sofa is awesome absolutely love it, the price was right. The colour is amazing.
