Can the blade be resharpened? I have rocky soil and it has dulled the blade.

Yes, I use a diamond sharpening rod to sharpen all my garden tools even shovels . Get one with a medium grit and just a few strokes on the top side and then one or two strokes on the underside after 3very three or four uses is all that is needed. Be sure to keep blades cleaned and oiled to prevent rust. Rust will eat away the edge faster and dull the edge more than actual use.

Does the metal tang extend through the whole length of the handle? (I.e. visible as a short bent over piece of metal at the butt of the wooden handle?

Yes, the tang does extend thru the whole handle, as you described in your question I find this to be a beautiful garden tool, and do highly recommend it.

I think not, I received the product, there is a label on the back of the product stating that the marks on the back are normal in the forging process of the tool, it does not affect, in my opinion.t’s a great little tool.
