Easier than I thought
Bought this with the hope of fixing all of the broken snaps on our Bimini top on our pontoon and it did not disappoint! And, it was super simple and quick. Buy it.

Great tool! Is there a way to purchase a replacement part C?
The tool worked great! But, I was halfway finished with snaps on my boat cover and dropped part C (magnetic part ) in the lake. Wish there was a way to purchase a replacement part. Is this possible?

Works.
I found this to be rather handy for putting snaps on leather items I make. Not usable for all snap installation as the depth of the jaws is somewhat constraining.

This tool works great and easy to use . My husband used it on that boat and I used to replace snaps on an old wallet that the snaps gave out on . Worked awesome ! Great product !

Not pretty, and not functional, at least for me
4/23/25Update:I increased from 1 star to 3 stars. This is because I started to think that if I adjusted my crimping method, by not crimping all the way through in one motion, but would crimp it in say 3 steps, turning the button 180 degrees each time, each time it would correct the error made in previous step, of shifting the crimp away from the center, by shifting it towards the opposite side: it might do a better job. And if you need to fix only a few buttons in your whole life, this tool, not being expansive, might be the ticket.I think this strategy might actually work. In which case the crimp would 1. look better, 2. not easily separate, and the tool would be functional: that's worth 3 stars.But I already have returned the tool. So this thinking is not confirmed by actual execution. I just wanted to make that clear. The only proven crimp that I got was a 1 star crimp.4/20/25: original rating: one star.It does not really work. It crimps things sideways instead of straight. There are 2 things that happen due to this problem. If you look at the button, you can see the 2 parts are shifted, and it looks bad.But, to make things worse, if you try to separate the button, it lifts up in a crimp area, instead of where the joint is.So, not only the crimp is not pretty, it is not functional.
