Q: Does the usb cord have to do a hard 90 degree bend to plug in, or does it curve? a sharp bend could wear out the cable.... tia

It makes no bend at all. It just lays in a channel and curves upward as It goes up through the base into the unit. Once installed why would you worry about the cord?

Q: Will these top over with heavy bass?

No. I have 2 Google Nest mind's both with the pedestals. They have never just fallen over. In fact, the base pedestal is very stable.

Q: Can i put my echo dot 2nd gen in it?

No. Unfortunately this only works with the Google mini. Sorry.

Never go for them, buy simple bluetooth connect devices

Herculean task to connect & make work. It makes you to reveal your location . Does not connect to mobile wifi. If wifi not available , it will not work from your phone.It takes away your privacy, always remember these Google devices
