This is coming from a person that's used roll-ons, gel tubes, clear patches, pre-cut strips, etc. For newly-knitted surgical scars, old hypertrophic scars, and some annoying scar blemishes. Out of all of them, this one has been the most effective and efficient at minimizing their appearance and projection. I had two surgeries within 4 months of each other and old scars from different points in my life, and these made my life a lot easier. Following surgeon's instructions rather than what was on the box. They are waterproof in that they will continue to be usable after they get wet, but I did find they slide off in the shower if not held on with medical tape. Not a problem for me to take them off for showers so I could clean and exfoliate anyway. I wear them for ten days before the adhesion starts to go (that is with taking them off for showers and reapplying them). Medical tape keeps them in place easily if you don't want to remove them at all for up to two weeks. But my surgeon did recommend no longer than two week increments before giving the skin a break for a day or two (perfect timing for friction massage to break up the scar tissue adhesions). I have a skin condition that makes me inconsistently allergic to things, and I have sensory issues. This one gave me no real problems, but I was more aware of placement on more sensitive skin like wrists. Does have perforated segments, but can be cut with scissors. I use sharper scissors to make it easier, but regular ones are fine, just make sure to clean them (goo happens).
